laidback, backpacker beach with mild waves for surfing. Went in January, particularly had the hold beach for ourselves

Quite clean and delicious local food stalls

Thank Siak Y

It's pretty dirty with cigarette butts and trash around the place, this place has gone downhill dramatically with the influx of more tourists since 2003 when I was last here.

Sad.

The east coast of Peninsula Malaysia has always been known for its lovely beaches. Cherating Beach is an embodiment of this. The sand is fine and the sea stretches into the horizon. And the beach is a long stretch.

We had a short getaway during the School Holidays. Its just 3hr drive away from city KL. Why go to overseas beaches when we have a calm and clean beach at our Homeland.

Certain parts of the beach have big waves which make it unsuitable for swimming. The other part located in Clubmed (near to the Zen Pool) is suitable for kayaking and sailing. Our kids loved collecting various seashells by the beach and it kept them occupied while we adults enjoyed our beers!
