This property is truly delightful. Stayed in no 27, negatives steepest hill ever climbed, positives amazing view and feeling of privacy/ space.
This accomodation was a suggestion of Lynn Hinton of Onyx travel who arranged & booked this holiday & took the time and trouble to make sure we arrived okay & that the hotel could arrange hotel boarding passes for return travel. She was even on the telephone to the car hire company making sure all was well as we collected the car. This goes way beyond anything we have ever experienced before.
Guadeloupe is perhaps busier than one might expect it does however deliver tropical scenery, amazing beaches, the weather one might expect & incredible dining experiences.
So back to HGA had a wonderful meal in their restaurant, both service & food were perfect.
The lady at reception on arrival took us to our room & had taken the trouble to put water in fridge. The next morning she was climbing the hill to inform us the car hire company lady had arrived. The pool was amazing. The cleaner was both industious & delightful.

I highly recommend this resort! It is clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near Deshaies. I wouldn’t say “luxury”...that’s more of a subjective word anyway. We felt at home here.

We arranged for our accommodation for 6 people, 4 adults and two kids, at HGA through email. When we were checking their website, the description of the room types didn’t list the Bellevue 160m^2 apartment (Room #40). We emailed and they were very responsive and helpful.

There are many pictures of this apartment on TripAdvisor, so I didn’t add any. The apartment is spacious and comfortable. The patio has the best view of the sunset. The kitchen was well-stocked with amenities. I would recommend this room to anyone, but especially if you have more than 4 people. A note though, it is as the very top of the hill of the property. An above average steepness. It may take a couple of times getting used to driving a car up there, which you will definitely want to do because carrying your luggage up could be difficult for some. My only complaint, which really doesn’t justify a downgrade to 4 of 5 more like 4.5 of 5, is the WiFi didn’t reach all the way up the hill to our room, so we had to walk down to the reception/restaurant. Their WiFi also has issues with Apple products they say. Our newer models worked better than the older.

The property is well maintained with lights, walkways, and plants. The reception/restaurant is full of information about what to do and can arrange to reserve things for you. The reception personnel were always friendly and helpful. The restaurant breakfast buffet was well stocked, but I would get there early to make sure they don’t run out of crepes. The dinner was also very good, and convenient if you had a long day of exploring like we did. Make sure you reserve a time with the front desk.

The pool near the reception was refreshing! Comfortable temperature and the water was kept clean. We spent a lot of time there for the kids.

I hope to return soon. While we may stay elsewhere in Gwada on future trips, I would certainly return to HGA if we stay near Deshaies.

A very nice hotel that is a short, 5 minutes or so, walk to Grande Anse Beach. It is also about a 10 minute drive to Deshaies where there are restaurants offering a few different dining options.

The hotel has pool which we didn’t get a chance to try. The pool area did appear to be neat and organized. There is also a restaurant the offers a breakfast buffet and serves lunch and dinner.

The room was not fancy and the bed was firm but comfortable. One feature that was very enjoyable is their terrace kitchen and dining area. The table comfortably seats four persons. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking and eating supplies and the mini-fridge was large enough to store our perishables. There is a two burner cooktop. A microwave was available upon request.

We booked this via our MasterCard points which was worth to about $223/night. They kindly upgraded us to a family room. We opened all the windows as their cleaning product was super strong smelling when we arrived. The studio had a comfy bed and tall ceilings and a good working air conditioner. The balcony is equipped with a small kitchenette and lawn chairs. The pool area is very nice and we found the overall property well maintained except for the flags which are falling apart

We stayed here for six days and the hotel is in a lovely setting, only ten minutes walk from beautiful Grande Anse beach. We had a very comfortable cabin with a pleasant bedroom and bathroom and a spacious shaded wooden balcony with a fully equipped outdoor kitchen. Our cabin was at the bottom of the hill and across the driveway from reception and the dining room so we did not have to climb up the steep hill to reach our accommodation, which could prove to be a problem for some people, especially in the heat of the day.

Most guests were on a B&B basis or were self-catering. The rooms with the semi-outdoor kitchen were perfect for this and were ideal for families who could choose when and what to eat. However as we did not hire a car - which we would have needed to reach the nearest supermarket for supplies - we chose half-board and to eat at the hotel restaurant. The breakfast buffet was good and we had no complaints at all about it BUT the evening meal was very disappointing and unimaginative. Each evening we had a choice of about three starters followed by either a meat or fish option taken from the á la carte menu, then a choice of desserts (always the same ones). The main courses were very bland indeed and somewhat tasteless. An example was chicken in coconut sauce but the chicken breast fillet looked just like the frozen ones you can buy and was extremely bland as was the coconut sauce, which I usually enjoy. Not only that but it was served on a white plate, with white mashed potato, so it even looked uninteresting! The starters were slightly better and the desserts were quite nice, especially the chocolate mousse which I had more than once! A pity as we didn't look forward to our dinners at all.

Had we known that one or two of the restaurants on Grande Anse beach were sometimes open in the early evening we would have gone there as they were within easy walking distance but we were under the impression that they were only open lunch time. Without a car we were unable to get into Deshaies and taxis were expensive and not easily available. The buses didn't run in the evenings either. There was a small garage shop at the roundabout about five minutes walk away but it has a very limited range and not enough selection to make a meal. For that you would need a car to get you to a supermarket.

The pool and pool area was nice, especially as we were unable to swim at Grande Anse because the enormous waves made it too dangerous. The Wifi didn't work in our room but was OK in the reception area except when too many people were using it.

On a positive note the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful as were the waiting staff and apart from the evening meals we enjoyed our stay.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the bottom of the steep hill unless you're very fit! The views further up are better though.
