We stayed at Sol Caribe for 5 nights and were extremely satisfied with everything: the food, the service, the beach, the rooms, the beautiful large showers, the access to fishing, the remoteness.
The manager arranged all of our fishing trips with a knowledgeable local guide. Sol Caribe has a dock across the street on the bay side of the peninsula so your guide can pick you up and within 10 minutes you can be into schools of Permit.
The rooms are very spacious and comfortable and clean. There are no neighboring resorts it was very quiet and remote, which we loved. The beach and water is gorgeous. There was a nice breeze most of the time we were there. If you ever get a calm morning, take advantage of their kayaks and paddle out to the reef. The manage can also direct you to nearby lagoon for amazing snorkeling.
If you are not very adventurous and want more of a "resort" experience, I would recommend staying north in Playa Del Carmen or Cancun. This area is for a certain type of traveler...some one who can be flexible and adventurous. Sol Caribe provides lovely accommodations with immediate access to the wilds of the Sian Ka'an.
Its a really special place with special staff!More
