This was my second time at Ocean Paradise. Booked directly via resort and got 40%discount. Booked the standard room with balcony and paid 50% advance in Dhaka office. Upon arrival, resort pick up was fast and efficient from airport. At the resort, luggage taken in by porter. Was given a welcome drink, too sweet for me nonetheless refreshing. The receptionist offered me a premier sea view room for some extra charge. Loved the view but the toilet was in dire condition. So we opted for our initial choice. Spacious comfortable room. Flat screen TV, arm chairs for relaxing and spotless toilet. I went to gym which is basic but has the necessary equipments for a good workout. Con: they charge you for the water bottle. Towel is free. Steam & sauna is BDT 300 or approximately USD4 for 30 min. Was decent. However the guests in pool went in water with their usual clothes which is disgusting and extremely silly. It's a conservative country and so we have certain swimming suits for such conservative women. Anyways post work out we went to beach which was a 7 to 8 min walk. Beach was just beautiful. Upon return the walk was uncomfortable due to a rancid smell from the pond. Dinner was in hotel and was just delicious! We had at the curry leaf and all bengali cuisine - prawn and chicken curry with whole pompret dopiaza style. The daal (lentil) and rice were complementary. Food was delicious and worth the money. Extremely friendly customer service. We also had desserts in the lobby bakery. That was average but very good customer service. Please see pics.
Room service is 24 hours. But one thing to note - no coffee or tea provided and have to pay. Also had to pay if consuming more than 2 water bottles. Overall it was a pleasant stay. I like our room but due to its proximity to lifts the noise was annoying. The resort bar is also very good with sufficient spirits/beers/scotch choices available. Moreover the resort is close to a lot of good and well known restaurants.
Day 2 - Breakfast was really good. Several choices available. Separate egg station. Excellent customer service. Had lunch at the bar. Excellent thai fried chicken. Calamari was a bit oily.
Gym was excellent as usual. However i was watching my own program when suddenly the caretaker of the pool/gym asked whether i was watching the tele since he and others wanted to watch cricket. I was kind enough to say ok. But seriously the tv was inside the gym and the hotel worker was outside manning other tasks. First of all he cannot request such things to a hotel guest and secondly he should do his bloody job instead of watching cricket regardless of how favourite this game is for most people.
Wife took advantage of the spa - shoulder massage was fantastic apparently and it was reasonable price wise.
The bar is also pretty good with sufficient selection of alcohol. They make a dirty margarita 😊. Also when you just order a drink, i assumed I'd be given some nuts or something. Nothing of that sort. Bartender was very friendly though.

Day 3 - Asked for sunny side up thrice. The guy just didn't give a damn and gave me a fried egg. Didn't make a fuss bc there were others waiting but a request from a guest should have been honoured.
Room service is excellent and extremely professional with food hot and tasty!
Cleaning service is excellent too.
Ordered room service. Chicken burger was delicious so was the OPL club sandwich. However when they mentioned it came with french fries and onion rings i didn't think they would give raw onion rings. That's what they meant! I mean come on! Anyways fries were just delicious too! The OPL chocolate cake was good too. Room service was super quick and efficient.

Day 4: Breakfast very good as isual. Wife's green tea came in late. Check out process was smooth. Will definitely come back. Thanks POL!
