This was one of the best hotels/pousadas I've stayed in. The location is perfect; the staff is super friendly, professional, and helpful; the breakfast is plentiful and tasty; everything about this pousada is perfect. You will not regret staying here while in beautiful Itacare.
Pousada muito boa, a beira da praia, meio isolada a noite se voce quer ir ao centro, mas da pra ir tranquilo. Achamos um diferencial ter o cafe da tarde, poucas pousada o fazem. Mas encontramos 2 baratas =/ acho que precisa detetizar. Mas estava tudo sempre limpo.
Very nice place, beach front, maybe a little isolated at night time if you want to go downtown, but its a nice walk. We found special the afternoon coffee.. its not every place that does and it makes a nice difference. We found 2 cockroaches, maybe they need to put some poison around. But no cleanliness issues.
The Villa Maeva is a modern vaguely polinesian style pousada (inn) on the Concha beach, just outside the city centre. It is perfectly located opposite the beach.
With its relaxed atmosphere you feel very soon at home.
Staff is very helpful and eager to please. The girls at the desk are well informed and will give great suggestions about how to enjoy your time in Itacare.
Rooms are small to very small but all have a private verandah, great beds and a good shower. The breakfast buffet has a wide choice of options and the afternoon tea is such a treat after a day in the sun.
Full marks ( nota dez) for the Villa Maeva!
I decided to stay here after doing lots of research and wanted somewhere pretty chilled and a bit indulgent.
It was out of main season so lots of places were closed and we had quite a bit of rain. But the pousada had a lovely spacious communal area and each room had it's own covered balcony so this wasn't too much of a problem.
The pousada is located right opposite one of the main beaches with a lovely bar/beach restaurant opposite. It's a little (10 min) walk into the main town but I liked the peaceful location.
Itacare is a chilled surfer style town, where as a solo female traveller i felt very safe.
The rooms are lovely (if a little cramped) although not much hanging space for clothes. But the huge beds are super comfy.
Staff are lovely and really helpful (but speak little to no English - great for me to practice my Portuguese).
The breakfast and afternoon tea - yes afternoon tea(!) were fabulous. Freshly made tapioca each morning, in lots of flavours, which they'll happily keep coming. And pastries and tarts that wouldn't be out of place in France.
There was a smallish pool at the front which was great for a quick morning dip.
I loved staying here and would definitely stay here again when I go back to Itacare in high season.
This is a great pousada, very close to the beach, 10 minutes walk to town centre.
The pousada is very clean & cosy. Breakfast is good, all the dishes are fresh and prepared each day on the premises. There is afternoon tea & cake available each day (how civilised - wonderful)
Above all this pousada shines out because of the staff! Without exception they are fantastic.
I speak very little Portuguese & they made me feel totally welcome.
