The guide book referred to larne as a grim town. Quite the opposite. We stayed at a lovely B&B The Harbour Inn and Liz was lovely hostess. We went to the olderfleet pub which we highly recommend! The local patrons treated us like family. It has an awesome beer garden that I wish we could have experienced on a weekend but we still sat outside and enjoyed watching the ferry come in and the cars disembark.

Just got back from Harbour Inn and Grill
Liz can not do any more for you' liz is a little gem. if you need any info on what to do in larne, Belfast or any where on the cost liz will help you.

Now back to the B&B
Rooms are clean I was in r7 top floor
Other family members where in r1 r2 r4.
The B&B has guest coming in and out on a daily due to been well a small stones throw away from the Port. In fact you can watch the ships come in and out all day if you wanted to.

Choice of ceriels
Orange juice
Plenty of tea, coffee and toast

You can order a small fry
Or a large fry which will see you through to 2 or 3 o'clock in the afternoon.

Liz does open her breakfast kitchen up on a Thursday to Sunday for the locals. So you might see police, port workers or just regulars having a fry before they go off to work.

I will definitely going back

We stayed here on the last night of our Ireland road-trip, and it was perfect. The sun was shining and we sat out in the small front garden in the early evening drinking wine and watching the ferry arriving, just across the road... It's very close to the harbour, but not noisy or anything like that.

The rooms are clean and comfortable, and quite basic. It's not highly luxurious, but it's comfortable, good value, and the staff are delightfully friendly! Definitely a great place to stay in Larne.

Just a lovely place to stay. Liz is a whirling dervish who rarely slows down. She is an exciting person who lives what she does for her business her quests and the friends she develops in her lovely B&B.

We were pleased with the great breakfast which she made to order. Her husband was a great deal of help in directing us to the place of our friend John's mother off Shankill Rd and ultimately the registry office to obtain birth certificate for his mother.

The concept of B&B is alive and well in Ulster thanks to good people like Liz and her husband.

Thank you for a wonderful stay. You are the best.

We were booked for an 07:30 hours ferry to Cairnryan and needed a B&B near the port of Larne. The Harbour Inn was ideal only 600 metres from the ferry terminal easy to find and park. Our experience over the years of travelling from Scotland to Northern Ireland or vice versa we have never managed to find a B&B that do early morning breakfasts however, the Harbour Inn do. The choice is varied if you want a small or large cooked breakfast you can or simply have a continental one most tastes catered for. Our twin bedded room was small but adequate for our needs very clean and tidy as was the en-suite. A common lounge is available and perfectly adequate for guests. Liz the proprietor is very friendly and has wealth of local knowledge. Evening meals are available with ten minutes walk of the inn, we chose the Italian and were pleasantly surprised with the menu available.

Room Tip: Ideal for the P&O ferry
