“a Pleasant Stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 1 September 2011

We stayed there for a night, in order to participate in a wedding ceremony that was organised within the hotel.
The overall service was satisfactory. The price was at 110 euros, that compared to the other hotel of the same category nearby was considered good enough.
The room was a bungalow, located behind the aqua club with the swimming pool.
It was quite new and comfortable. The bath was new as well.
The location of the hotel is good, someone has to cross a 20 meters tunnel in order to cross the road and get to the beach.
The hot buffet breakfast as well as the service in the breakfast area were satisfactory.
Overall, I should recommend this hotel for its room, but the thing that you have to cross the road in order to reach the beach is a significant cons.

Room Tip: Select one of the bungalows

My stay:
-travelled with a group of approx. 40 students taking high school courses
-4 to a room gets pretty messy and uncomfortable

Rooms:
-separate buildings connected by pathways that reminded me of a storybook setting
-lots of towels available in the bathroom
-beds are very comfortable
-unless you are staying with 3+ people, there is plenty of storage space
-nicely sized balcony, perfect for sitting outside to read or work, as well as hanging clothes (but they can blow off the railing very easily in the wind so be sure to be careful and check around your building if things go missing)
-takes about 5 minutes to walk from the rooms to the main building (from where we were, at least)

Food:
-breakfast and dinner had so much food to offer, I looked forward to those meals everyday. Delicious.
-the food at the cafe during lunchtime could be better, so I'd recommend exploring the cafes down the street from the resort

Beach:
-very busy during the day
-gypsies are abundant, I recommend getting henna tattoos from them (5 euros typically for one small one)

Pool area:
-very nice with lots of lawn chairs and couches (even in the center of the pool!), but it is just as busy as the beach
-pool is LARGE
-bar service is fast and nice
-bartenders are very friendly
-be sure to rinse off before and after entering the pool

Misc:
-room service takes a while
-the cots are terrible
-our maid(s) didn't do anything besides replace our towels, so our beds were never refreshed (maybe that was exclusive to us, but I'm sure you could request a room clean if this happens to you)
-large mountain view, which looks surreal at night when the moon peeks out from behind it
-about a 30 minute walk to the bars in town (Blue and La Playa are very nice)
-bus is 1,40 euros for 1.5 hours and you have to pay each time you get on the bus (you can't reuse your ticket)
-we once ordered a simple lunch at the hotel cafe, and the service took so long and was very confusing. It was a frustrating moment because we were on a time constraint.

Overall, myself and the other students loved this accommodation and we had a nice stay.

By the weekend is good to go for the winter, the Elite City Resort is an all-season luxury accommodation proposal. Following a major renovation in 2010, is the city resort by the sea offers luxury, top service and hospitality with a family business. It consists of a main building (Elite City Hotel), a villa complex (Elite Villas), a state-of-the-art conference (Elite Blue Center) and the Aqua Club. It offers rooms with sea view for romantic getaways, complete services for business travellers and family holiday feel to the cottage with facilities 4 *. It is also favorite meeting-point thanks to the cheerful pool bar in summer, winter lounge with good music and sea in winter and gourmet navy-chic Elite restaurant all year and features suites with privé pools, recreation areas and an olive grove private chapel, an ideal backdrop for magical weddings.

A bussiness meeting point in the capital of Messinia.

We went to Kalamata for a wedding. Our family and friends stayed at various hotels. We chose Elite City Resort, which turned out to be the best in the area. It has been very recently renovated and redecorated which was its major competitive advantage, along with its private beach and well kept surrounding area. It was clean and well lit, the room temperature was comfortable -after figuring out that the a/c worked only if the veranda window door was firmly closed- and breakfast was enjoyable. However it did have some small mishaps, such as a safe that was not readily functional, a makeup mirror that was notscrewed well and couldnot be used. However what was definitely below standard was the shower: the shower had no glass door, only a curtain which meant that whenever anyone took a shower, the floor was flooded, and anyone entering the bathroom had to walk on a very wet floor. So although it was our best possible selection. it probably was not worth the full season price we paid.By the way, the matresses were very soft, so if you have a problem with your back.....

I stayed here for two nights with my three children aged 14 to 10. The hotel has been recently renovated and the rooms and lobby are very nice and clean. The breakfast is excellent. The large pool is terrific. The hotel is right across the (two-lane) road from the beach, which is nice but not as nice as other nearby beaches. Still, the beach is clean. We didn't eat dinner at the hotel, but there are several other reasonably-priced restaurants in nearby walking distance. We loved being able to dine at a table right ON the beach watching the sun set.
We chose one of the "family bungalow" rooms. It seems to be rare to be able to book a room in Greece that sleeps four people, so we saved a bit of money this way (over the cost of two rooms). This "bungalow" is really a good-sized room with two twin beds, bathroom and TV on the main floor, and then an open loft above with two more twin beds and another TV. There was no privacy, which was fine with us, but could've been a problem if, for example, parents wanted to stay up talking or watching TV while their kids were supposed to sleep.
The loft had a railing with vertical slats. My kids are older, so this was fine, but I would've been very unhappy with this room if I had had young children with me. I could just imagine them climbing the railing and falling into the downstairs area.
The only negative thing I could say is that the air conditioning cooled the downstairs just fine, but the upstairs remained quite warm. My daughters didn't tell me this until the last morning, so it is possible we could've done something about it.
The family bungalows are right next to the pool and my kids loved being able to go to the pool on their own. There is a little bar-cafe at the pool, so you can get drinks or snacks there, which is nice.

We satyed for one night in the Elite city hotel. the room was spacious, clean and well designed and equipped. There was free wifi high speed internet. The room service and the reception personel were very helpful. The breakfast was exquisite, far beyond our expectations with great variety of choices. Everything was well prepared and with high quality standards. The Hotel ffers a great pool and the beach is very easily reached, 2 minutes by foot from the reception. Staff was very polite and helpful when needed. In general the stay in the Elite hotel played a significant role in making our stay in Kalamata more pleasant and unforgetable.
