We stayed here for a few nights in the beginning of November. We simply loved the quiet and peaceful atmosphere in the heart of Tuscany. Our room was small but clean. The bathroom was a little bit obsolete but that couldn't ruin the overall ancient feeling. The staff was very kind and willing to help on every step. Breakfasts were good, dinners were perfect - food was really delicious. We will definitely to come back to Villa Sabolini again.

Beautiful remodeled estate in the midst of farmland - great walks right from the hotel. Delicious breakfast and dinner- never at lunch there. Large rooms, large bathrooms, windows you can open. Even on the street side, quiet.

Room tip: Our room was great - 2nd floor. I think views from all rooms would be good.

Our 16-member tour group was cautioned about ‘Nando,’ the horse-size Saint Bernard dog that rules the excellent Villa Sabolini Hotel complex. Nando rose from his resting place as the bus pulled into the courtyard. The gargantuan fur ball lumbered over to us, sniffed at my foot. Deciding if he wanted to dine on a leg or neck of this chicken?☺ Images of Stephen King’s ‘Cujo’ ran rampant in my mind. Super guide Gaia’s warning related only to disturbing Nando. Let sleeping dogs lie.

Surviving a lick from Nando/Cujo’s ten-pound tongue, our group was welcomed with sparkling wine and escorted to our rooms, set in various buildings of a converted medieval monastery complex. Mine was in a restored farm building, winding stone stairs leading to an upstairs foyer that branched out to the rooms. How elegant! The room is spacious, well appointed, with modern bathroom fixtures. The room-view of surrounding Tuscany landscape is breathtaking. Each meal served by an attentive staff was superb, and the service superior. Our group used the hotel as a staging ground to visit various nearby locations, each an education into the history of Toscana. We even stopped to view the house used for filming the movie, “Under the Tuscan Sun.” I was constantly in awe of every aspect of the hotel and its proximity of an incredible countryside. I regret that we had only three nights to enjoy this marvelous area of Italia.

Room tip: Rooms not overlooking courtyard...noise factor by late nighters
