This is the first time I've reviewed a restaurant twice but I think in this instance it is definitely warranted. The new location is the third one I have visted in the last 5yrs of following this family team around Orgiva but believe me it has always been well worth it.
I bet the locals can't believe their luck at having such an exceptional quality restaurant in their small town.
My wife and I opted for the incredibly low priced 3 course Menu del Dia lunch. Starters comprised a beautifully presented Greek / Potato salad and a mildly spiced cous cous with chickpea and diced tomato. It should have come with an egg but sadly it was missing but no worries it was still very tasty. We shared this course by having half each. The mains were large portions of pork lomo stuffed with a boletus puree, french fries and subtle sauce drizzle was sublime. Another half and half shared dish were the desserts of profiterole and the thinnest of crystalised melon slices accompanied by a mouth refreshing citrus sorbet. A bottle of a Protus crianza Ribera del Durro all for the under 40€ was as usual was great value for money.
The friendly. efficient service and warm welcome is what makes El Limonero something special. One final comment, the menu del dia changes for each day that the open, another bonus is that they offer a 3 or 4 choices for every course.

The Flor de Limonero was in the Hotel Taray. It has now moved into the centre of Orgiva , near the Hotel Mirasol, and is called El Limonero.
It is very modern and chic without being ostentatious. Fab service from friendly Scottish waiter. We had sharing starter of Alpujarras cheeses with tomato chutney. Huge plate and tasty.
My partner had lamb with carrot, pumpkin and ginger. My cod cappucino was a bowl full of creamy loveliness- perfect dish for a winter's evening. I declined pudding but judging from the rate my partner's plate was emptied the caramel chocolate bar was a success.
Wine delicious and reasonably priced.

The restaurant has a quiet terrace (in addition to interior seating) looking out at the Sierra Nevada mountains. Orgiva is one of the first towns if you are arriving from the sea and going along the autoroute 348 into the alpujara region. The restaurant was the perfect stop to break up our drive and breathe in our first mountain views. Service was friendly, efficient with very little English ( although menu was in English). We ordered a number of vegetarian dishes to share at the table. The zucchini carpaccio was a definite favorite. Nice assortment of perfectly cooked grilled vegetables as well. The non-vegetarians enjoyed the octopus.

This long-established restaurant was originally named "El Limonero" and located in central Orgiva, but subsequently relocated to the best hotel in the area, the "Taray", where it took its present name. The most pleasant tables are located in the delightful patio, which provides views of the surrounding countryside and the Contraviesa mountains at lunchtime. The interior restaurant is large, but a little characterless in comparison with the smaller patio, although the large windows provide rural views.

The menu had changed since our previous visit and we found the new layout somewhat confusing. As is typical in the Alpujarras, vegetarians may struggle to find a reasonable selection beyond the salads. However, we decided on a shared starter of "abanico langostinos" (Euros 12.90); butterflied kings prawns served on a slate with an unusual dip of honey flavoured alioli, which enhanced the sweetness of the prawns. For a main, we shared a 750g portion of 55-day aged "chuleton de buey", a char-grilled rib of beef which was perfectly cooked "al punto" (Euros 36). The desserts were equally impressive and, in particular, we can recommend the delicious "tiramisu dulce".

The wine-list (incorporated into the main menu) was relatively small, but the selection was well-chosen and good value. We selected the local Granada DOC "Valeta Carbenet" which was excellent quality and very well-priced at Euros 15.50. The service was very well-paced and the staff were friendly and polite.

Our final bill for 2 was Euros 88.70 (excluding tip), which included finos, coffees and mineral water, which we felt represented very good value, albeit at the upper end of the price range in the Alpujarras. We have been visiting the area regularly for over 14 years and would not hesitate in recommending this restaurant.
