We arrived for a 2 night stay on July 24 at Bakers Narrows. We travelled with 2 adults, 1 child (age 7) & a dog. The lodge is easy to find from the highway, everything throughout the grounds is well marked. The cabins & grounds are all pet friendly which is excellent. We were checked in right around 3pm and everything was ready. The check in process went seamless & quick. The staff are all very friendly and helpful if you have any questions. We stayed in Cabin #1 which is very close to the park, lodge, beach & volleyball court. It's a great location. The continental breakfast is served in the lodge, quite a bit of variety. The lodge is free to use, it's very convenient if you are travelling with a group; there's lots of space inside & out on the deck area. The flowers on the grounds are beautiful. The beach area is small but useful. A great benefit is that there's canoes, kayaks, a floating dock w/ diving board, a waterslide and paddle boats for guests to use. Fun for all ages. Cabin #1 has 2 bedrooms, 1 bath w/ shower, living/dining room area. The cabin was VERY clean, we were impressed. The beds were comfortable. The housekeeping staff do a great job at paying attention to the little details; dish soap brush filled, provide a bag of rags and lots of towels provided. The cabins have satellite tv. Shower had great water pressure. The cabin had everything we needed. The BBQ & covered deck area with chairs was a nice bonus. Every cabin has their own firepit area & there's also a group firepit area. There is free WIFI & the signal is fairly strong throughout. The surrounding area of Flin Flon is beautiful, the people are friendly and the town has all the essential services. We would stay again at this property, my only recommendation is to stay longer than 2 nights!!

This is our second time to Flin Flon. Bakes Narrows Lodge makes it simple and easy. We should up in the morning and were on the lake by noon. We per-arranged to have them sell us all our tackle, rod and reals. I took 6 first time people fishing and they had trip of a life time. We got over 5 Master Northern Pike. We did the fly out and caught all the walleyes we wanted. If you have the chance go and catch some monsters.

Thanks Chad for your kind remarks. We do try to ensure that all of our guests enjoy the "trip of a lifetime". Your group was really fun to work with, and seeing those youngsters catch some big ones was rewarding. We hope to see all of you again in the future.

It's amazing how much you can find out about a place just by buying one of their products in a store. I first found out about Bakers Narrows Lodge by picking up a package of their crispy fish batter. That was over a year and a half ago. A year and a half later, my dad and I finally decided to make a father/son fishing excursion out of it as a retirement gift to him. It was time and money well spent.

The location is tranquil and peaceful, the log cabins are rustic, but warming.
It has a front deck and barbecue grill, and a firepit with two lawn chairs and a picnic table, and there is a woodshed (axe provided) where you can get your firewood. There is also a nature trail nearby our cabin.

The log cabins are neatly maintained, and fully furnished with the amenities of home (all you have to do is bring your own food, but it is also handy to have some things on hand in case you forget to bring that one thing), including kitchenware, pots and pans, drinking glasses and a coffee maker with coffee ready to brew in the morning right just before you hit the water for the day.

The bathroom is compact, but has a nice clean glass paned shower with just the right amount of hot water & water pressure. Towels, face cloth, shampoo, and soap are provided.
The beds are comfortable, one room has a queen size bed and the other has two twin size beds, so it was comfortable for both of us to sleep. Only noticed a couple of ant traps in one of the rooms, but being in the wilderness, it's a necessity for comfort.

The main lodge offers a daily continental breakfast, and has a games room area for pool, ping pong, and fooseball. Outside the lodge is a community firepit, a nearby beach, and has an outdoor tent for social gatherings and is also perfect for outdoor weddings with the lake and pine trees for a beautiful background.

Brett, Ralph (the creator of the fish batter recipe) and the staff on hand were very friendly and accommodating with getting us checked into our cabin on our arrival and are great to talk to.

There are boat rentals available to use, their hourly and daily rates are reasonable. You can choose from your basic fishing boat (including depth finder, life jackets, a full jerry can of spare gas, and fishing net) or if you have a bigger family/group of people, they also have pontoon boats available.

We only had a small minor incident on one of the boat rentals where the fuel line had a small crack and had to make our way to shore on the north end of Sourdough Bay, but the staff in charge of the boat rentals was able to get the line replaced and back on our way in no time.

John Wolters, our friendly, down to earth and knowledgable fishing guide is the best at what he does in finding the right spots for northern pike and lake trout. Be sure to ask for him as your guide if you go for a guided day trip, he knows his stuff(and he also likes to talk hockey too!) He took my dad and I out to the main waters of Lake Athapapuskow and it was my first time jigging for lake trout with a heavy bait cast rod and reel. I also learned a few new tricks and tips from John on baiting your hook, holding the position of your rod, and getting acquainted with the layout of the lake and the surrounding coves and water channels.

Although the fishing was unusually slow at this time of year despite the nice weather (which is no fault of anyone's) and a bit windy on the main lake on the guided day, I did manage to land a nice 39 inch northern pike (approx. 25 lbs) and had the pleasure of bringing it in, it was the largest fish that I ever caught and held in my life! That alone was worth the trip up to this place!

The only other thing that could have been better during the whole fishing trip was to land some more fish to have a shore lunch (John and the lodge did provide a packed lunch just in case of that), and maybe to catch some walleye if they were biting, but nevertheless, it was a great experience, and a wonderful time during our stay at Bakers Narrows Lodge!

Our first time to Bakers Narrows Lodge and Lake Athapapuskow was a great experience, and we will definitely be back again! If you want a true back to nature and picturesque scenery of an angler's paradise up in northern Manitoba, or even for just a simple family retreat or social gathering, then I highly recommend this gem of a resort! Thank you to Brett, John and the entire staff again for everything and your warm hospitality! I will definitely be making a return trip.

Having travelled to Flin Flon for a not so fun occasion I'm not too
sure what we were expecting. We didn't really want to stay in town.
So after doing a little research on line decided to give Baker's Narrows
Lodge a try. We were so pleasantly surprised! The cabin was cozy
and very clean. It had every amenity we could want and more. And for
the four of us we thought it reasonably priced. Hope to visit again in
the future.

Room Tip: Ask about availability of a unit with a wood stove if you would like one.

The cleanliness and hospitality was a !0. A unique cabin setting that was open in the off season as well. Many outdoor activities as well as building that a large games room to allow fun for all ages.

Room Tip: Property is surrounded by a lake on three sides, fishing guides and float plane available.
