Visited the Enjoy Centre to view Christmas light display. Very Christmassy with beautiful lights... read more
We checked out the Christmas sales, the plants, kitchen wares, grocery store and olive oil store. Not that exciting. They did have some unique knitting kits and the bread in the bakery was smelling good.
Beautiful place on a great piece of property but designed for the wealthy. It is a nice place to visit and window shop at all the unique items but if you are on a budget it can be quite a let down when you try to purchase anything. The greenhouse is state of the art but you also pay for that. Also watch out for run away shopping carts in the parking lot due to it being built on a hill. Seen several people struggling with their heavy, large trees and plant purchases to keep them from rolling away from them or when they attempt to load into their vehicle. Sure not the same atmosphere as when it was a small family run greenhouse, sure miss that.
It doesn't the season the place is always beautiful...Christmas is exceptional.....prices are par. Very calming place I find
I called the green house to see if edible lavender was available. The lady said no and I asked if she had any ideas where I might get some. Instead of just saying "I don't know" which is fine - she got a snarky attitude and said "she had no idea as they are not affiliated with any other greenhouse and that I had to do my own research" Really, is that necessary? Wow - customer service at its poorest. The only great thing is that she answered the phone and I didn't have to drive there.
The Enjoy Centre is exactly that, a place to browse and enjoy yourself. The greenhouse is spectacular, on the lower level is an outstanding organic food store called Amaranth as well as Sandyview delicatessen with excellent selection of meats and prepared foods. Also located on this floor is a bakery and liquor store. The liquor store has a limited but quality selection of wines and beer, several selections of beer are available in draft form by the half or full gallon. A great place to visit.
We held our wedding at The Enjoy Center, and it was one of the worst experiences ive ever had. If you are looking to get married in Edmonton, PLEASE Read the reviews on yelp and trip advisor before you book with this venue.
The venue itself is beautiful and unique looking. However the owners and management are a nightmare to work with. They will promise to provide things like staging, rafter speakers, water glasses, podiums, etc when you book with them (and consequently pay the down payment) and then will turn around 3 days before your wedding and tell you these things are no longer included, and then threaten to cancel the event unless you pay an additional 80%.
The executive manager/head chef in particular should be avoided at all costs. He was extremely disrespectful to myself and my parents, and at one point raised his voice to my mother and father threatening to cancel our wedding if they didn't pay a premium. He lacks integrity and decency, and brings up problems with your agreement days before your event, knowing full well that it is too late to make alternative arrangements for the items that are apparently not included in your contract. This is the dirtiest kind of business and should not be trusted with your wedding or special event.
We went through seven different event coordinators between the day we signed the contract and our wedding day. Each of these individuals were either fired or quit due to disagreements with senior management. And after having directly dealt with the management, it is not surprising to see why.
On our wedding day itself, the staff were exceedingly rude to our guests, stole bottles of vodka and craft beer, refused to provide water glasses to my grandparents and family, and tried to shut down the party early. They refused to return boxes for the cake and favors, and were exceedingly aggressive with our other vendors who were trying to set up and clean up. The executive chef seemed determined to make things as difficult as possible throughout the entire process, and even kicked us out of the hall during our rehearsal\ set up time by informing us that he'd set the alarm and that we had 15 minutes to leave before security arrived. Saying the experience was stressful was an understatement.
Do Not Book With the ENJOY CENTER. And if you have already booked, cancel it. Your wedding day will be stressful enough, without having to worry about whether they will try to cancel your event or over charge you.
And if you think this is an isolated event, please note, that we have now encountered 4 other individuals with similar experiences. The enjoy center has been deleting unfavorable reviews and flooding their web pages with adds and positive messages.
