Description: Bockholmen Hav & Restaurang probably has the best location of all Stockholm restaurants on the island of Bockholmen in the inner archipelago. A rural calm reins, so it is easy to rediscover your peace of mind after the stress of a few days in the big city. The restaurant is housed in a beautiful late 19th century building. The menu features dishes such as: steamed sea bass with petits pois, brandade, mange touts leaves and balsamic vinegar; and seafood bowl with long flounder, tuna, gambas, pilgrim scallops, squid, mussels, reduced lobster stock, tomato, fennel and broad beans. For dessert, you can enjoy an exotic fruit cocktail with vanilla cream, mango, pineapple and passion fruit.

The buffet brunch has a wide selection with som really amazingly prepared dishes (the perfectly poached eggs, the mouth watering chocolate mousse with berries and the delicious spareribs) however there are also some really bland dishes with mediocre quality (the herring, the gravad lax and the cookies). The worst bit is however the queuing to the buffet since the space of its placement is narrow and they have everything in one place. The service is neither attentive nor friendly.

We were a rather big group and had our own room upstairs at the restaurant. The place is very cosy but acoustics are not great, it got very loud when everyone was chatting and hard to hear even those close by.
Food and wine was very good and the staff was very friendly and attentive. I would go again with friends or just my husband in the summer as the outside space is probably spectacular when the weather is nice, with view over the water in a green setting.

We wanted to go somewhere special to celebrate a family member turning 80 and were not disappointed. The staff were extremely helpful and made us feel very well looked after. The outdoor area is lovely but on this occasion we decided to sit indoors, due to a slight chill in the evening. Starters might be on the small side but they were very tasty, main courses were good portions and fantastic. There is decent selection of wines but the younger part of our group would have liked to see more choices of cider. The great food combined with fantastic service made this a great evening and somewhere I'd love to go back. It's not the most accessible restaurant if you have problem walking but speak to the staff who will help and assist.

What a wonderful evening I just had with my wife and friends. Such a beautiful setting off the beaten track and a lovely greeting from the manager. I seldom give 5 stars so don't be surprised I only gave 4. The only deduction was because there is a limited menu due to it being summer and therefore Stockholmers have departed to their summer houses. I had fish roe for starter followed by entrecote (steak) and then vanilla ice cream and sensational lemon tart. Bliss.
