Family run Restaurant where you can feel like at home. Local food, friendly staff, frequented by mainly people from the town. Excellent food and service. Deserves a visit.

I am in Carpi on business regularly and just have to visit Il Carducci. It has a friendly family atmosphere, TV screens with Football on so nice and chilled but lively too. Staff are fantastic and always recognise me and speak a good level of English- this is rare in a place like Carpi- they also have menu's translated into English.

The food is awesome, a particular favourite is the Tortellini in Broth- which I think is a speciality of Il Carducci. A very typical dish of the region and great in the winter. They do gorgeous steaks too. Last time we were recommended a sparkling red from the region - Lambrusco- it was delicious and complimented the food fantastically. I am usually so stuffed after the starter and main that I don't have space for dessert- but perhaps next time I shall pace myself!

This restaurant is perfect. And them not speaking English makes it even better. You need to make a reservation it will be full. The food is wonderful but the people that serve you go out of their way to make it a very pleasant experience.

Hands down a must while in Carpi.

If you happen to be in the vicinity of Carpi you should stop by and visit the center of this town. The large square (Reinassance) in the center, one of the largest in my region, with a long “porticato” on one side is an absolute beauty. Have a coffee and imagine the scene 600 years back. Back to the food. We were invited for dinner by a friend of mine who knows this place fairly well. Traditional cuisine from the area (Emilia- known for the prosciutto, parmesan cheese, culatello, sausages, and many other food related products that keep Italy still afloat). Our dinner follow the classical script: gnocco fritto, affettati, parmesan cheese with aged (25 years) balsamic vinegar followed by a sample of three different filled pastas. No space for any more food. Limoncello and nocino to wrap up the dinner. I didn’t pay so I can’t comment on the price. Service was nice, prompt. All family and very cordial. Everything was very good and we had a very enjoyable dinner. If this is ranked 23rd in Carpi (maybe 70,000 souls) I can’t imagine what the others can do. For people not familiar with real tortelli, ravioli, parmesan cheese, prosciutto, etc have a taste and a treat in this restaurant.

These people are so proud of the home made ( by mama) cooked food! It is a very nice and simple family run restaurant. The cook and serve the food with love, and you taste it!! Simply wonderful!
