“Great Day Out”

The centre and farm is relatively close to London, took us 25 minutes to drive from Putney.

Had an absolute fantastic time at the farm picking fruit and vegetables.

In all fairness the variety for this time of the year was not great, mainly squash, marrows, apples and cabbage, but we where lucky enough to still get a few good raspberries and strawberries which was a great surprise.

After the picking we had lunch in the restaurant. The lunch offering was good as well as the sweet bites at the counter.

All in all a good day out, we will be back next summer!

Took my Mum here for lunch - full of women taking their mothers to lunch! Chairs rather low for older people and menu a little confusing - on blackboard, then found a menu tucked away.Gave one to lady in wheelchair who was not clear about the blackboard. My mum wanted beef lasagna but it was finished. She opted for risotto and I had Ploughman’s lunch - confusingly listed as £7.50 or £15.00 for two (bargain?!!) actually it was the best Ploughman’s lunch I’ve had. There was an initial problem though.... there were no knives!! I don’t mean the waitress forgot them, she said there were none clean!! Bit tricky when you have a slab of Cheddar !
She eventually found some knives- it was her first day and she was delightful. Hope things get better for her.

The Restaurant part of this Garde Centre is always very busy especially Sunday lunch time. We were only there for coffee and the farm shop. It is always somewhere to go if only to have a browse in the food shop or the shop or garden centre..Parking is sometimes difficult.

Had a very nice lunch in the Restaurant-toasted paninis which came with salad and chips. The restaurant was very noisy as it was full of young families. Maybe look at reducing the noise levels? The staff were pleasant and the tables were cleared away promptly.
