To pay $ 1516+taxes for one night for a room, and do not have the proper shower water pressure, almost zero it's inconsistent with the level of a "Leading Hotels of the World" unit.
The duty manager have tried to repair it by replacing the room, and guess what!...with an inferior room, telling us to pack our things and to move in an at, least similar room.
THEY LIED TO US,OBVIOUSLY!
Second issue; nobody is making anything without a tip...you have to keep your hand in the pocket allways.
The resort is nice, the beach beautiful, the water splendid, but the people from the staff, unfriendly.
I'm a high luxury accomodation traveler, and I know what I'm talking when describe the situation.
Don't trust what they say about the room, check with your own eyes, before accepting it.

Cap J, Manager at Belmond Cap Juluca, responded to this reviewResponded January 12, 2016

Dear Florin
Thank you for taking the time to review our property, it was a pleasure having you with us.
At Cap Juluca we are renown for the genuine friendliness of our staff, who always go above and beyond to make sure that our guests experience is the best possible. This is a fact that has been attested to by our guests over many years. Our policy on tipping, is that tips are absolutely never ever solicited, it is also contrary to our culture here.

Our guests are our number one priority at the property and if someone is dissatisfied with their experience, we work very hard to correct this immediately. I am very sorry that your experience in this case was less than satisfactory and I do hope that we are able to share a true Cap Julucan experience with you in the very near future. We would really appreciate the opportunity to further discuss all aspects of your visit and do hope we are able to speak with you soon.

Another amazing stay at Cap Juluca. Every little thing about this resort is beyond wonderful and on one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. The villas are exceptional, the food is fantastic and the service is above and beyond. The people of Anguilla are so special and at Cap Juluca they will do anything to make you happy. A special thank you to Lockhart for making our stay so much better. Cannot wait to go back.

Cap Juluca occupies one of the most beautiful beaches I have ever seen. The hotel prides itself on creating a stress-free luxury atmosphere for their guests and they are certainly succeeding at that (aside from forgetting to mention that there's no breakfast served at their restaurant on Christmas Day). The staff is well trained, friendly and knowledgeable. One of the managers/concierges Carol deserves a special note of thanks as she is just amazing!

However, I don't think the hotel could have commended their prices if it was not for the beach or their staff. The rooms definitely need to be upgraded to stay on par with luxury hotels in their category. Everything, from the doors to showers to beds, just feels old. The other disappointment was the breakfast buffet selection. It is as minimal as they can possibly get away with and NEVER changes. Yes, there's an a la cart menu, for extra money, but, I believe, that at this level of room pricing, the better free breakfast selection is a must.

Overall, we still had a wonderful experience, but, I think, if nothing is done to the property, in five years time even their phenomenal beach will not be able to make up for disappointment of the rooms.

What a wonderful place! The staff is warm and friendly. Kudos to Jessica at Maundy's bar, who shared her wealth of knowledge of Caribbean rum with us. The beach is one of the best in the Caribbean - the sand is fine grained and white and there are conveniently located beach bartenders to make sure you have rum punch at all times. The food is great! Breakfast has all the usual items like omelets, pancakes, sausage, fruit and yogurt. Lunches range from fare like hamburgers to Niçoise salads. Dinner is either Pan-Asian style food at Spices or traditional preparations of fish and meat at Pimm's. Caribbean specialties conch soup and conch fritters are fabulous here - don't miss them. Rum appears on every menu whether it is in coffee or Pina coladas. The rooms are Moroccan style and very comfortable with large patios. Going to sleep with the sound of ocean waves is wonderful! The bathroom is generously sized with large bathtub and separate shower. The views of the ocean and the nearby island of St. Martin cannot be beat - I cannot begin to describe the colors of the sky and sea - truly stunning. I cannot wait to come back here!

We've stayed here 5 times and it never disappoints. The hotel is perfection. The villas line the perfect half moon beach with every room on the beach. Waking up and opening large wood panel doors to your patio overlooking an azure blue sea with your continental breakfast awaiting you is absolute decadence. Then, after juice or coffee take 10 steps and recline on the beach on your perfectly positioned chaise. No crowding. No noise except the breeze and the ripple of water. Ahhhhhh!!! And the staff makes it even better.

Room Tip: There are no bad rooms but for absolute privacy request the villa at the end of the beach
