This charming and elegant casa is located only 3 blocks from the Parque Vidal in Santa Clara. It is a quiet, clean and very nice home in a safe neighborhood. Your hosts Odalys and Homero are nice and welcoming. They are there to help but also respect your privacy. They have 2 rooms at the back of the house by the small courtyard so you can sleep without any noise from the traffic outside.
The breakfasts and other meals are prepared like you want in their very well equipped kitchen and server in the elegant dining room. This house is like a museum, there are numerous pieces of arts, dolls, chandeliers, dishes, furniture with dated from the early 19th century and before.
At the center of the house, you will find a little oasis open air (no roof) terrace surrounded by greenery. Ample seating options there to sip your cappuccino and read a book quietly.
The living room boats a large big flat screen TV where we sat to watch the Villa Clara baseball team play. But for more private viewing, there is a small TV in each room.
Food: Food was delicious. They asked what I wanted and they delivered wonderful dishes. I had 3 breakfasts and 2 dinners there. Breakfast consisted of fresh bread, fried eggs, good selection off fresh fruits and fruit juice, coffee. Dinner were typical Cuban dishes as I requested. Breaded pork with cheese with congri once and ropa vieja and white rice the other time. Always served with fresh salad and tomatoes and ice cream for dessert. I also had some snacks of ham and cheese sandwiches which were delicious!
Amenities: TV, air conditioning, private bathroom with shower, breakfast service, dinner service, comfortable queen size bed, bathroom with shower, fan, lots of storage space, decent size fridge stocked up with water, pop and beer.
Other comments: The hosts don't speak English so you need to know enough Spanish to get by. I don't know much Spanish but was able to ask for meals and directions sometimes with the help of a pen and paper and lots of hand gestures. :) They also have a dog who is tucked away in a dog house so I never saw it.
I thoroughly enjoyed staying at this casa, which is my second casa experience in Santa Clara. I will not hesitate to stay there again and recommend it to anyone looking at exploring the beautiful vibrant city of Santa Clara.
