“Excellent choice!”
Reviewed 23 September 2015

The Oasis at Marigot bay was an excellent choice for a week long get away during the beginning of September.
The first thing worth mentioning is how helpful the staff were. There was nothing they wouldn't do to make our trip enjoyable. I am thinking specifically of the staff in the office. They helped with suggestions for activities and with scheduling them, in addition to making arrangements for transportation to and from the event.
The second thing that was wonderful was the actual villa itself. It was simple and clean and had wonderful views out over the bay that were a joy to see every morning whilst sitting on the balcony sipping my morning cup of tea.
Other thing that were of note included a number of restaurants that are pretty good and cover the range from atmospheric, the Rainforest cafe, to convenient and tasty, Doolittles, and nice laid back atmosphere.

Room Tip: as bugs are prevalent in St. Lucia regardless of room choice, make sure you have citronella candles...

When the first positive note you mention is our staff, that really means a lot to us. Our staff have literally been with us for an average of 15 years (yes, it's true) and so we value them like family. So wonderful to hear, thank you! :)

And then of course, the villa & view lol. Great to hear you enjoyed these so and that you could experience the little treasures of a place like this by sitting on the balcony, sipping a coffee and watching the boats go by.

As a note for medquitos you mentioned, it does depend on season. September through to October is the rainy season so there tend to be more, but we provide citronella candles, bug spray, and all beds have bed netting to help with that.

Thanks again and if you ever come back to St. Lucia, please let us know! :)

We chose this villa to spend our 25th wedding anniversary. After reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided this was a secluded, private getaway ... just what we were looking for. This place did not disappoint! We had beautiful views from every vantage point. One side of the house viewed the magnificent Marigot Bay and the other side viewed the ocean. We watched boats come in and out of the bay, the beautiful sunrise and sunset. We barely left the house as we wanted seclusion and peace and quiet. We had the pool which we floated in for hours admiring the view and lush foliage. There are many great restaurants at the foot of the hill. We really enjoyed the café next to the Marigot grocery store ... best burgers ever! We rented a car, thankfully because the hill between the house and the restaurants was quite a climb. We're pretty in shape people but that trek was something we didn't want to conquer everyday. The roads were fine to drive on ... you are on the opposite side of the street so something to consider. Urial, the house manager, did a fabulous job making sure we weren't interrupted by the staff. Everyone was very friendly. My husband and I travel frequently, never to the same place twice, but this place has changed our mind!

"After reading the other reviews on Tripadvisor, we decided this was a secluded, private getaway ... just what we were looking for. This place did not disappoint!"

That pretty much says it all! Wow, thank you so much. It's true, the Emerald Hill Villa has probably some of the best views in St. Lucia. No matter how great a photographer or videographer we send there, the pics/videos never do it justice.

And... "My husband and I travel frequently, never to the same place twice, but this place has changed our mind!"

I can't tell you how much that means to us, truly! If you ever wish to come back, please let us know and we'll ensure it was as wonderful as the first.

My husband and I visited late August early September which is the off season, not too busy but hot. Stayed in Villa 6. Views were beautiful. We had little feathered visitors, they love bananas, and the resident kitty who loves the Irish Cheddar we bought from the grocery across the bay. The villa is open air so I recommend the AC in the bedroom if you visit in the off season. Mosquitoes were tough but management provided BOP to spray and help control. The unit is nicely equipped and laundry service helped out greatly. Very relaxing atmosphere. You will hear all the nightly noises- birds, crickets, and music from restaurants on the Bay. The management staff are very friendly and helpful. Let them schedule your taxis and excursions. Otherwise you may pay more than a fair amount. The stairs are steep and you will come to love the funicular no matter how long the wait. Truly. We walked the stairs twice, and done. There are several great restaurants to try. Masala, Doolittle's, Capella, Rowley's, and Rainforest were our favorites. Avoid Chateau Mygo. VERY BAD experience there and cannot recommend, at all! The owner responded to my review and lied in so many ways. Very expensive and unfriendly. Beware. The Good Stuff- St Lucia Helicopters, Endless Summer Catamaran cruise, Zip lining in Rainforest was awesome!! Alex, our water taxi, gave us many exciting tours on the way to Castries and waited for us while we shopped. One trip to Castries was enough. The north sail was great and we snorkeled at Rodney Bay. Ate great local food at Dove's outside of Pigeon Bay. The Cruise to the Pitons and Soufriere was beautiful. Ate at Fondue Plantation, visited the volcano and Diamond Falls. The grocery in Marigot Bay is sufficient and worth not taking the taxi out of the area. Rowley's had great breakfast! The public beach is nice but beware of the locals who want to sell you any and everything. Just firmly say no and walk away. Alfred, a local, was very nice and helpful. Such a sweet soul. Avoid Noel. Over all we enjoyed our visit. We just highly recommend avoiding Chateau Mygo. Exchange currency for local EC so you pay fairly and aren't over charged. There is a bank across the bay by the grocery. St Lucia is quite expensive compared to other Caribbean islands.

Hi Jeannette,

Thank you for your thorough review of so many aspects! I'm sure this is very helpful for a lot of people. It's nice to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us in our little bay here. It seems you've also appreciated all the little things that add to the 'Caribbean charm' of our place here, like the beautiful views of the bay, the little tram that takes you up and down the hillside, the noises of nature at night, and more.

Very good of you to share so much about restaurants and activities as well. Many of what you speak of (including all restaurants) are not owned or operated by Oasis Marigot, so just to clarify for those whom it may not be clear for, the only activity we essentially operate ourselves is the North & South Day Sail Tours, which is always a favorite among guests. However, we offer a "concierge-like villa rental stay" where we are always happy to help you arrange every part of your stay - from taxis, car rentals, activities, restaurants, and more.

Nice to hear you found everything you needed in the bay as well, including groceries. There's also a bank, a few shops, a little bakery, and of course restaurants here in the bay. Always nice when you don't have to travel too far :)

Thanks again for your review and we're constantly improving and upgrading our operations, so if you ever decide to come back to St. Lucia, please let us know and we'll help you find the perfect spot whether it's at one of our villas in Marigot Bay, by the Pitons, or elsewhere! :)

We thoroughly enjoyed our week and sampled the many restaurants around the Bay, took two full day sailing excursions one to the North and one to the South of the Island. We took it all in! Oasis Marigot is a lovely place to stay, I would recommend getting a bedroom with AC. We did not and it was a very hot week never dropping below 81 degree's in the evening and the breezes died down. Other than that it was an excelent destination and we intend on returning. Also this resort is on a steep hill so if you have walking issues you will use the mini tram, otherwise we got some great exercise. The hiking was fantastic as well.

Room Tip: Any room will not disappoint.

Thank you so much for your feedback on your stay; it's so nice to hear that "any room will not disappoint" and that you enjoyed your stay here in Marigot Bay - and also that you enjoyed our day-sail tours so much! They're our most popular activity for a reason after all! ;)

We're happy that our offerings really seemed to suit all your needs, from the availability of AC to the hiking paths we have, to the sailing excursions, and even our "charming little tram up the hillside"! :)

All the best on your future travels, and we'd love to welcome you back one day! :)

We had an amazing vacation using a boat chartered through Oasis Marigot. From the beginning, Oasis was responsive and very nice. Before the trip they offered a grocery service which delivered straight to our boat. We sailed on a catamaran and it was amazing and very relaxing. I highly recommend Oasis Marigot.

Hi Larissa, so wonderful to hear that you enjoyed your catamaran charter so! Of course, sailing in the Caribbean is supposed to be all about amazement and relaxation, and it seems that's exactly what you captured so we're very happy to hear that.

The Caribbean, and especially the Windward Islands are some of the most beautiful sailing in the world, with the Grenadines being known as the "jewels of the Caribbean" with hundreds of pristine uninhabited islands and reefs. If you'd ever like to come back and explore more, we'd be happy to ensure once again that you have an awesome time.

We enjoyed 8 days in paradise. The units may not be luxurious but the view, location and staff made it a five star experience. Three of us stayed comfortably and prepared many meals in the small but well stocked kitchen. Other reviewers have said it best: dont go there to party. Go to relax and enjoy the serenity the Oasis will offer. Just pack your mosquito repellent with your sunscreen. They seem to love fresh blood. We hope to be back. Thank you to all at Oasis Marigot for your kind and cheerful hospitality.

Room Tip: Unit 10 had aircon in bedroom. We gladly paid the extra fee. Though our daughter was comfortable ups...

"The units may not be luxurious but the view, location and staff made it a five star experience" - that's a great way of putting it! And for the record, we do also offer some luxurious villas for anyone who is interested in that on our website! ;)

And you're totally right that Marigot Bay and our accommodations - and even St. Lucia in general - are not really a "party destination". St. Lucia was named the #1 honeymoon destination for a reason.. ;) It's quiet, tranquil, and incredibly beautiful - a perfect place to relax and unwind.

Hope to see you again sometime! We'd love to welcome you back.

Our family (6) stayed at Villa St. Lucia July 2-9 and will recommend the location, property condition, amenities and staff without hesitation. Our prearranged shuttle taxi was waiting for us at the airport. He stopped at the grocery store in advance of our arrival at the villa to collect a few essentials for our first day or so. The easy water taxi ride to the villa adds to the charm of this seaside destination. Upon arrival at the villa our family felt as if we'd found our home away from home. The villa and private pool are very well maintained as are the landscaped grounds. Simple check in. Quiet, peaceful surroundings with options to go explore the island at your own pace; by land and/or sea. St. Lucia itself is truly a diverse paradise to be enjoyed. Marigot Bay as a base location turned out to be better than we could have ever expected. No cruise ships and no mega-resorts to contend with. We're sailors and chartered a day sail down south to Soufrier and the Pitons for a great day on the water and then snorkeled on the return trip. There is a never ending trickle of sailboats of all sizes arriving and departing Marigot Bay to keep the view ever interesting. We bought fresh amber jack fish from a local fisherman one afternoon and set our table fit for a king. Local skiffs are available to hire for snorkeling, fishing and exploring the coastline. Plenty of day trips are available for all ages and interests. You can arrange activities on your own or through Oasis Marigot's on site office. Helpful and accomodating with a smile is an understatement for their management staff. From beginning to end our experience was amazing to say the least. We can't thank the folks at Oasis Marigot enough for making our family vacation such a remarkable experience.

"We can't thank the folks at Oasis Marigot enough for making our family vacation such a remarkable experience." - thank you for the amazingly wonderful words! :)

You truly captured the wonder of Marigot Bay in your review there. You're absolutely right - Marigot Bay is (in our opinion) the best base point for exploring the rest of the island, since it's right along the center of the west coast, is quiet, and not overrun by cruise ships or resorts. As you say, there's plenty to do from here - including our very own day sail excursions by our sister company Sail Oasis that depart from Marigot Bay, and more.

So happy to hear you family vacation was such an enjoyable and memorable time. That jack fish dinner sounded pretty good too ;)

We hope to welcome you back one day! Do let us know when you plan to return :)
