The price was right, considering St Lucia is not a cheap place. The people in general are really kind and wonderful and very proud of the Island. I have been to dozens of Islands but St Lucia is great on taking care of its trees and waters. The Oasis is a very peaceful place and Margot Bay is a spectacular place to go for a Honeymoon. If your young and looking to party not so much. Do not miss the fish fry on Friday nights in the next fishing village south or go to the jump up in Castries in Castries. We rented a 42 foot sailboat to go south to the pitons. The Gardens and Waterfalls are nice but the volcano is not worth your time unless you have never seen small steam vents. The baths look good but we did not try them in the same place but I would just pay for the baths and you can still see most of the vents. So the sail was great but the lunch well I would bring your own. You have to walk some up stairs but I enjoyed it.

Hi Bill,

Thanks for your great summary review of your stay with us in Marigot Bay. It's wonderful to hear you found our place to be peaceful and a recommended honeymoon spot! We would agree; we cater to travelers who like to be somewhat "away from it all" but still not too far removed from all the necessities (Marigot Bay has restaurants, bank, etc). So you're right, it's not a place to party by any means. It's a place to relax, unwind, watch the ships go by, and is also a great central hub for exploring the island and all its attractions.

All the best on your future travels! :)

We stayed at Oasis Marigot late October, and had a great visit. The accommodations are very clean, spacious, and comfortable. The views are spectacular and we had the best sunset view of all. Miranda in the office couldn't have been nicer and was so helpful to us in planning daily activities. It is an expensive island to visit, for transportation and food, but we enjoyed everything we did. The people of the island are great and quite friendly.

Thanks for your quick and to-the-point review! Wonderful to hear that everything met your expectations and that you enjoyed your stay! And we always love to hear appreciation of our amazing staff, so thank you!

We're glad we could make your stay easy for you. We do strive to offer a "concierge-like villa rental service" where it's more than "just a set of keys!" We help plan the whole thing, from activities to restaurants to taxis to car rentals and more!

Thanks again, and we hope to welcome you back one day! :)

St Lucia is a very expensive place to vacation if you are on a budget. Breakfast for one is nearly $US 60.00. However, the people and the staff at the hotel are very personable and warm, treating all the guests very well. St Lucia is very typical of Caribbean islands; the locals are fairly poor but hard working. The landscape in the tourist areas is breathtaking with gorgeous views of the blue seas and the greenery of the rain forest. The only downfall is the tin shacks lining the roads and the penchant for people to not get rid of garbage like wrecked cars.
All in all the vacation was great but pricey. Probably best to go with all inclusive options.

Room tip: The rooms are very nice and private. Only bedrooms have air conditioning which makes the rest of the villas very warm. Great views from all

Hi Kim,

Thanks for your honest review. And I'll be honest as well - I feel maybe you aren't the type of traveler for our sort of offering, not that there's anything wrong with that. We offer a private villa, which people appreciate as it gives them a chance to explore and meet the authentic St. Lucia; the friendly locals, the towns, the scenery, the views, etc. All our villas are self-catering so you can buy food from a local market and prepare it yourself, or eat out at a restaurant.

It seems that you maybe didn't enjoy as much seeing "life outside a resort", and if you're only eating in restaurants (which can eat up a budget) then perhaps it's true that an all-inclusive is best for you.

Thanks for giving our type of travel experience a chance though.

All the best for your future travels.

Our cottage was directly above the office so information was readily available -- it was anyway. Sam and Miranda were very helpful. All the staff was friendly.
Oasis Marigot is halfway up a hill. Fortunately, there was a mini tram to assist a trip to the top. There are many steps to the cottage doors but not too steep.
The entry level housed the bathroom (with shower) and stairs up to the living room/kitchen and down to the spacious bedroom. There is a veranda on each level with table and chairs on the upper. The louvered folding doors on each level opened out about 8 feet exposing a beautiful view and breeze.
The 20 % VAT and 10% service charge on restaurant meals made it expensive for Canadians but the cottages are self-catering so it balanced out Good food everywhere

Room tip: Facing the bay was the best views.

Thanks for the to-the-point review. It's nice to hear you enjoyed some welcomed "R&R" in our beautiful bay here.

We feel our location really adds to the charm - you have to take a ferry across the bay to get there (no roads), you have to take a tram up the hill to your villa. Life in the islands moves slower, and this almost puts you into that vibe as soon as you get here! :) Plus, the view and setting once you're at the villa are all worth it.

All the best, and we hope to welcome you back one day to beautiful Marigot Bay,

Returned from a wonderful vacation in Marigot Bay Villa St.Lucia beginning of October. We had the whole villa to ourselves with a private swimming pool. Used their shuttle service from the airport and helped us rent a car locally to explore the island. This was our 2nd trip to Marigot Bay and each visit only renews our desire to return again. Enjoyed drinking, drinking, and dining at Doolittle's. The Sunday briefing from Sam was both entertaining and illuminating a compendium of things to do and places to go. We are planning our third trip and still won't have done half of the things that are available. The staff were exceptional. I don't think we have ever met a more friendly, likable, helpful group of people. If you are looking for a place to relax in an exotic location with snorkeling you found it in Marigot Bay. Being on the south side of the bay meant you miss the cruise ship visitors as you need a water taxi to reach the facility (only $15 for the week). There is a funicular to help you up the side of the hill which is a brilliant idea (especially when arriving with bags or late in the evening after embibing). When you wake up and look out over the bay from your veranda, it's an experience you will never forget.

Room tip: Villa has two bedrooms and single bedroom below, both having their own lounge and kitchen area and access to an outdoor private pool.
