In rolling Norman countryside this small inn (owned by the prestigious Ferme St. Simeon at Honfleur) is a charming place both as a stopover and to explore the local attractions. Very peaceful and well appointed with good food and very comfy bedrooms.

Room tip: We had a suite in the annexe and it was very spacious and well equipped. Only the charming sound of the local stream during the night!

This is an idyllic country inn. Warm services, comfortable room (good size but not very bog), excellent restaurant and grounds replete with fish ponds, that are so peaceful and beautiful one doesn't want to leave.

Very tranquil setting but only 5 minutes drive from Honfleur, this is a wonderful place for 'getting away from it all' for a few days.
Our room was clean and comfortable but do agree as a previous reviewer that the loo is very 'snug' - probably the only criticism we had of the accommodation.
We had dinner on two nights - high standard of cuisine and reasonable value at 39 euros compared with other restaurants in Honfleur. Service not over friendly but professional - a slightly warmer manner towards guests would have been appreciated, but all in all a very nice stay.

Lovely small property crammed in amongst a few homes on a country road.
The country Auberge has great food, sweet property, but is one of those places the designers could not have spent a night in the room.
The toilette in various rooms has NO space to actually stand and drop trousers.
The shower is open stall and sprays water all over the bath.
There is NO where to hang a towel, a bathrobe, clothing etc., and the bath is open to the room. Is this trend benefiting the occupants?
The queen bed is actually shorter than most, and the price demands a full king I should think.
No AC by the way, this is the country, and it IS warm.
Pretentious wait staff at night, but good food.

The lovely pictures don't lie. The locale is magnificent, the grounds impeccably maintained, the staff is welcoming and the accommodations are quite nice. It is a bit like stepping into a country french magazine set. But at the risk of being a spoil sport, there is something contrived.

While many other buildings in the area are old, this one is made to look old. I found it rather odd that there isn't a single line on their website about the history of the place or the owners. We know they are tied in with the five star Ferme Saint Simeon in Honfleur which is absolutely reeking with history. But the website relies on the very photogenic stills not on the real identity of the property.

So if you don't mind being in a faux Norman property, is is quite comfortable with a couple of shortcomings. Soundproofing is inadequate between the rooms. Our "loft" was very pleasant, but not the 40 steps to get there. The bed was comfortable, the bathroom nicely lit with well placed track lights and skylights. The rainwater shower pleasing, but perhaps would be more so with a glass door. Wicker furniture and some minimalist tables gave it a "guest bedroom" ambiance. Kudos for secure wifi, something too many hotels don't take seriously.

Breakfast was particularly enjoyable, with a wide array of artisanal breads, freshly squeezed juice, a good selection of cheeses and charcuterie and frequently brewed coffee.

One can be beguiled by the whole package, complete with a desirable restaurant. So if you don't mind it being contrived, relax and enjoy it just the same. I can't give a hotel a five star review when the owner is in hiding.
