One night stay. Nice sized rooms, although the bathroom was quite small and the shower (no bath) was the tiniest I have ever experienced. Microwave & fridge, which was nice. There was a very nice jacuzzi in the living room, but it had a sign saying we weren't allowed to use it. There was also a dirty used dental floss pick n plain sight on the coffee table. Not a huge deal, but was really gross to see upon arrival.
While this newly refurbished property has nice views and much promise, we experienced several other disappointments. The room had no heat turned on when we arrived - thermostat read below 10 C. Took about two hours to get to a comfortable temperature. The main office was closed on arrival and departure. We waited around for at least 5 minutes for someone to show when we first arrived. Locked shut when we departed around 9:30 the next morning. Had to leave our key at the restaurant.
The property could use some signage. We couldn't find the door to the restaurant. After walking all around it - which was difficult because the walkways weren't shovelled - we finally found the entrance. I joked to the waitress they could use some signage, she replied "it's not my fault you couldn't find the door". Basically telling me I was stupid. After a short, unpleasant conversation, instead of spending more money at the restaurant, we left and found a nice diner in Powassan that had great prices & food, and welcoming, friendly staff.
One of the reasons we stayed here was because we'd heard good things, and are looking for a longer stay in the area during the summer. As mentioned, this property has great potential, but between the poor service and the various unwelcoming experiences, we'll probably look elsewhere.
Hopefully it will improve as time goes on.
