This hall, on the outskirts of Padiham, near Burnley, is a gem of a place. Built round an old pele tower and designed by Sir John Barry, the designer of the Houses of Parliament, and other notable houses, was the former home of the Shuttleworth family and houses the National Textile Collection of Rachal Kay-Shuttleworth. The building is jointly owned by Lancashire County Council and the National Trust.
