On the evening of our stay in the clean triple room we had prawn and Marie Rose sandwiches which were delicious. The fish, chips and mushy marrowfat pease were equally extremely tasty and to our liking.
Room three, with a double and a single bed was very clean and comfortable and the shower was excellent.
All in all we would recommend this friendly pub for its ambiance, its friendliness and its accommodation.

Booked at very short notice but for once we struck lucky and found a very pleasant pub. My wife and I had a small but very comfortable and spotlessly clean room. The food in the bar, evening meal and breakfast, was excellent. As was the beer. We'll be back.

We were heading south from Scotland and needed a one night stop over. This is ideal. Only a few minutes from the busy M6 the pub offered spacious and comfy rooms, delicious food and good company. It is an old building with lots of character. Our room was sizeable, but the bathroom was enormous - the size of a large double bedroom. Plenty of hot water and large fluffy towels. Our evening meal was substantial and tasty - no room for dessert for me! A good selection of draught beers too.

Room tip: Everywhere is quiet. Views not an issue.

Stayed here for one night with my wife while diving at Capernwray. Friendly greeting and found the room clean, spacious and comfortable with plenty of off road parking. We walked into Carnforth on the evening which took around 35 minutes but was a pleasant walk and a taxi back was around £5 (including a diversion due to road closure).

The breakfast was really tasty and was obvious it was locally sourced fresh food, got a earlier breakfast which was no problem due to our time scales. Despite this, unfortunately the breakfast was not very substantial, to be honest I was surprised at the serving size when it was stated as a full english (1 thin sausage, 2 bacon, 1 egg, a few beans and a few mushrooms) and we both left the hotel feeling hungry when not being particularly big eaters.

We stayed in room one and were really comfortable, had a few disruptions of being woken by other guests passing through the fire doors outside our door and early morning were woken from above.

Overall a good place to stay and would consider staying again but would eat breakfast elsewhere and ask for a different room.

Given it 4 out of 5 because of overall experience, although it sounds it the comments above were not a huge negative for us as such, more for other potential guests who like a undisturbed sleep and a full belly.

Thank you for having us.
