Love The Palms.
17 is a great place for a bit of winter sun.
If you don't book early you won't get to stay.

“Perfect Stay in a lovely appartment”
Reviewed 15 November 2016 for a stay in November 2016

I had a lovely time staying at The Palms in November 2016. Weather was perfect and the apartment was ideal. Lovely, clean and had everything I needed. Great location too with a bus outside the door that made getting to Los Cristianos and El Medano easy. The cafe & the pool are right outside the door at The Palms is open all day and although the food is a little basic is comforting there is a lot of choice and everyone is very friendly. The appartment is very close to the pharmacy and ATM so really you will have everything you can need on your doorstep. I recommend the coastal walk from the Marina to San Blas and Los Abrigos. The planes do go directly overhead so be prepared but I didn't mind at all. Thank you very much for a fantastic stay. I look forward to coming back :-)

“Great complex despite the planes”

First off, The Palms is directly under the landing path for planes at the nearby airport. They normally stop @ 9pm however, and don't really get going until 9am the next morning. The Palms complex has a restaurant and bar ( ok) but there are hardly any steps do it would be particularly good for those who may be a bit infirm. It has 4 pools and there are always sunloungers available. Grandee O Donnell's pub is 2 minute walk away with nightly entertainment. At the other end of the complex, you will find a doctor's surgery and a farmacia. All in all, a great spot for a holiday as long as you don't let the planes spoil it for you

“Good accomodation on friendly complex”
Reviewed 27 March 2015 for a stay in March 2015

I have stayed at this bungalow before on this particular complex. The bungalow is very clean spacious and well equipt. The Palms has a clubhouse with very good quality food and a well stocked bar at very good prices. It often has entertainment in the evening depending on the number of people in that evening. Sometimes gets cancelled due to not many punters. This is a residential complex with some people living there permanently.
There are 4 swimming pools and plenty of sunbeds. One swimming pool is heated in winter. The swimming pools are not open to non residents and gated which is good. The gardens are beautiful. I love it here and visited the palms since 2007.

Golf de sur is on the outskirts of Tenerife, there are only 2 buses an hour which come within 10 minutes of each other, they go to the main resorts. There is a tour agency over the road with plenty of trips on over. There is restaurants around and a mini supermarket.

“17 The Palms”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 for a stay in November 2013

First impressions - looked good. Yes the complex you could not fault and would certainly use The Palms as a base. The staff at The Palms were all very friendly and obliging. Any daytime slumbers are soon disturbed from the roar of the planes going overhead, however if you are out during the day then this is not a problem. We also knew that planes went over the area at low level before booking.
Back to no. 17 - the bed was extremely comfortable and generally the place was clean.. However the oven looked in need of a good clean and grilling was an impossibility as no grill pan. The washing machine worked without the door being closed! Saucepans were all very clean, but the frying pan was a safety hazard as the handle was broken. The shower tiles on the floor needed a good clean. This they almost had as the glass dome in the ceiling leaked badly and we had half a bucketful of water after a day of constant rain. This we found out was a problem that seemed to affect most of the apartments on The Palms. Half the light bulbs did not work and when replaced soon stopped working. Many of these were very minor things, that could be soon taken care of and would greatly improve the apartment. The lock on the gate from the apartment to the complex did not work and although we mentioned it to the management company they said it was not up to them to fix.
My great concern were the ELECTRICS and my husband had an electric shock from a bare wire. An electrician did come around and hopefully the problem with lights/switch above the dressing table are now safe.
Would I book this apartment again - No and the reason for this would be that I prefer the opposite side of The Palms where you do not get the road noise, otherwise Yes as the positives outweighed the negatives.

Sorry for the late reply, but ive only just managed to open the review.
i employ a management company to look after the apartment, they deal with all small problems. They should of noticed that a wire was loose, and had it seen to straight away. I did get an electrician round as soon as I found out what had happend, I was really worried about what had happend, The electrian did say not to worry as it would of been no more than a static shock. The point is it should never of happend.

I have never had complaints about the cooker before, there is a grill pan, it is a big square tray with a grate on top. Maybe it is different to the ones in the UK, it is the same as I have in Ireland.

The tiles are throughly cleaned, but i know where you are coming from they do look a mess but no matter how hard you scrub they never look any different. I wish I had never had them put down. That is something i definetly want to replace.

If it is the little back gate out of the property, I can honestly say I have never even tried to lock it. There is a key for it, in the 4 years i have had the apartment no one as mentioned it before.

The frying pan has been replaced, so as the dinner service I tend to replace it twice a year also there are new wine glasses. Things get broken unfortunately I dont find out until I go over myself, which is around 4 times a year then I replace what is needed.

As it was booked with my managment company I didnt have any contact details for the guests. I am truly sorry for your experience.
