Hubby and I camped here for one night, awesome service, as soon as we arrived we were advised of best sites for optimal views we chose site 10. The host was great, friendly and informative. Awesome natural beauty and awesome nature abounds, eagles many sea birds and the potential for whales. Even though the weather called for sun it poured rain for 2&1/2 hrs, thankfully we had a shelter and plenty of tarps. Once the rain subsided we started a roaring fire which outlasted many spurts of intermittent rain...Thank goodness for a great tent.

I am so glad that we went to the top and end of Cape Breton. Meat Cove is such a beautiful place and it is actually one of the highlights from our trip. Road is little bit off (for around 2 kms or so) but it didn't bother us. Go to meat cove and have the awesome seafood with an amazing view of the Atlantic. We also have plans to go for camping there in near future.

The most compelling location, seemingly at the end of the earth, off an otherwise spectacular ride on the Cabot Trail. Just for the memory of having hot, fresh mussels, a cold beer, and the best seafood chowder EVER, this side trip is a must.

We camped at meat cove 1 night. The road into the campground is a little rugged but the view is worth it. There are also some trails near by with stunning views. The campsites all have great views, however the are a little close together. Likewise many of the tent sites do not have flat ground to set up your tent unless it is very small. The washrooms definitely need to be upgraded and there is only 1 stall which is not enough for all the campers. Likewise the shower is coin operated and looked very tiny and dirty, as a result I did not use it. Would recommend camping here but could use some upgrades.

Yes the drive is a bit "interesting" and I did have to pry my wifes hands off the dashboard and ceiling after our arrival (Twice actually, we came back the next day for more food lol) but the view and the food was spectacular! If we were tent camping or had a smaller lighter RV we might have camped also. Try the chowder it is excellent! Mussels were super fresh and super tasty. If we decide to go east again we will definitely be stopping here again. :)
