It was a great way to make a detour on the Cabot trail, and not have to rush. Only thing with this campground, if you want a tent site, they don't reserve, it's first come. You are able to reserve a cabin, we did. No electricity, no big deal. Mattress is as hard as the rocks on the beach, lol. They don't sell beer for drinking at your campsite, if you want it at the restaurant, you drink it there.

We were told about this gem by a local while driving the Cabot Trail. A little off the beaten path and a few kilometers of dirt road but it was worth the drive to this beautiful place.

Wow is the first word out of my mouth when I got out of my car.....what an incredible view! If you are travelling the Cabot Trail it is definitely worth the extra drive to Meat Cove for a lunch or an early dinner.

My friend and I found this road a bit scary to drive, even in good weather,so if you are nervous at all, I would not take the trip, even in good weather, gravel road with lots of drop offs. Scenery was amazing. We had chowder for lunch there, the prices were pretty high I thought, almost $14 for medium size bowl of chowder, with roll and margarine, not butter. The chowder had more potatoes and vegetables than fish.
