We visited the Royal Sun as a multi-generation family staying in a 3 bedroom apartment. The apartment was well equipped and had everything we wanted for a week away.
The 2 double & 1 twin rooms all had a separate bath / shower room & although they were due for a refit they were clean & very spacious. Travel sized toiletries were provided. The maid service was first class.
Kitchen area was also good with a large fridge / freezer. We didn’t use any cooking facilities and I would strongly recommend the Breakfast package at the resort. Fantastic buffet style breakfasts in the dining area with gluten free options on request. Service here was top notch too!
Beach towels were available for a deposit - no fee if returned at the end your stay. These could be changed for fresh towels daily. Safe is €3 per day.
Outside space ..... WOW! We spent most of our time here during the day & although the hotel had a pool we really didn’t need to venture outside of our own ‘garden terrace’. A massive patio with table & 7 chairs along with 6 sun loungers as well as an ‘artificial’ lawn with hot tub. We didn’t need anything else! The convenience of popping in for a drink, the loo or getting changed after a dip in the hot tub really made our holiday. Add on one of the best views in Tenerife & it all made for a break where you could could relax & unwind with the privacy of your own villa.
We eat in the resort once, food very good but we personally enjoyed the atmosphere and short walk into Los Gigantes in the evening. We would walk to the village and back, quite a trek uphill but worth it! Other members of our party would order a taxi from Reception for between €3 - €4 each way. The restaurants were also happy to order a taxi when we were ready to leave.
All in all a fantastic place to stay and we were pleasantly surprised at what the Royal Sun & Los Gigantes had to offer. We’re already looking at booking here for next year!
Note, there is building work going on as all rooms are refurbished. This started about 8am & was always finished by midday. It didn’t spoil our holiday nor affect the peaceful ambiance created at the Royal Sun.
