Review of Castle Rock

Perfect spot! Spend XMAS at Castle Rock. Highly recommend it to families looking for a cozy beachfront property. Thank you Susan for sharing your beautiful house! When I return to the Bahamas, I will stay at Castle Rock

Castle Rock is right on a beautiful beach! The house also has a pool and hot tub with views of the ocean. This is the most relaxing vacation I have ever had. If you want night life and lots of activities go somewhere else. The house has all the amenities you could want.

I have been to Abaco numerous times but this was the first time that I stayed in Treasure Cay. Castle Rock has one of the best locations right on Windward Beach. The beach there is beautiful and the home itself has all the amenities that a family could want. It is such a luxury to be able to swim and snorkel footsteps from your accommodations. Very well laid out decking. The views are truly awesome...even from the inside of home! Nice breezes in this area which is great since summer temps are right up there. The new hot tub the owners put in is a nice addition. This home was very clean and modern with plenty of space for my family of 6. You are located about a mile from the Marina, restaurant, grocery store etc. If one wants to try another beach you can easily reach Treasure Cay Beach( rated one of the 10 top beaches) with a short golf cart ride. This pure white sandy beach has a crescent shape and goes for 3 1/2 miles...A perfect area for a beach walk..colors of the water are absolutely breath taking.
Yes, this area is so quiet that you can actually use a golf cart to get around.Other modes of transportation would be rental car, boat, or taxi. Because there are not many restaurants or souvenir shops, it might be best to rent a car..at least for a few days. This way you can drive down to Marsh harbour in about 40 minutes. This area has many shops, restaurants and also bigger grocery stores.
A perfect vacation for those looking for peace and quiet on a beautiful beach with spectacular views.

Castle Rock in Treasure Cay is the most relaxing vacation you will take. Treasure Cay is not for everyone. If you are looking for lots of restaurants and evening entertainment do not go to Treasure Cay. If you want a relaxing vacation go to Treasure Cay. I have been renting Castle Rock for years and in my opinion it is the best rental in Treasure. It is a beach house. Not luxurious, but all the amenities you will ever need. Pool, beach, hot tub, bikes, high speed Internet, vonage phone system, satellite TV, and spectacular views. Treasure Cay is one of the best keep secrets for vacationing

It is amazing. The view is spectactular from EVERY room...white soft sand and turquise seas (warm and clear) right in front of the house...with the pool in between!! The breezes kept us cool, even in August! The most relaxing place we've ever been.

Castle rock is in desperate need of modernisation and renovation throughout - 2004. The internet description of “comforts of home” is misleading unless you live in a beach / vacation cabin with only the basic comforts of modern life – don’t be misled by very well selected internet photographs. They claim “the pictures tell the story” – but this is far from reality. Rusty blinds, sliding doors which have long forgotten how to slide, a hammock with hole. to name but a few irritations are not shown.
It is described as being spacious for 8 people – half this number more like, cable TV in each bedroom means 1 small TV you can move around! The lack of AC is a drawback and the winds are not as romantic or cooling as described. AC in the bedrooms are old and noisy and the third bedroom can only be accessed from outside the house.
While undoubtedly it has magnificent views there are no luxuries to be had in this somewhat basic accommodation which itself may not “enhance your vacation memories” but leave you with empty pockets and full of disappointment.
