Approaching the property, or looking at the building from photos, you’ll expect a fairly pedestrian, concrete hotel with boring rooms & iffy furnishings. I did.
But after I settled in, I began to notice this is a very well done hotel on those hurricane-proof concrete bones. They got all the little details sorted out nicely. Examples:
- All the furnishings are nice; the bed is super comfy with a very cushy mattress pad / topper.
- The sheets are excellent quality, and the pillows are assorted firmness.
- The porch outside the door has a nice outdoor chairs & table setup that is comfortable enough to sit in for a while at the end of your day.
- The little apartment fridge is easily tall enough for that leftover wine bottle you brought back, and even has a real freezer on top.
- The bathroom soaps & lotions are excellent quality.
- The floor tiles throughout & wall tiles in the bath are tasteful, and the stone vanity top is a tasteful, nice real stone choice.
- The shower is very nice, with a mosaic stone floor and very cool wall tiles, with both a nice adjustable wall wand and an overhead rain shower.
- Very nice TV hung high to keep it off the furniture & make more space.
The only miss wasn’t the hotel’s fault really: Power went out 2x overnight. Either the hotel has a backup generator, or grid power came back quickly. And when it did, the light in the overhead fan (which, too, is good quality) came on more brightly than I’d have wished. But, hey - at least power was back immediately, so kudos to the presumed backup generator.
I was thinking this might have been a second-choice hotel. But after staying here once, I’ll make it my first choice if I return to this area.
Nicely done.
