It was the second time we were in the lodge (madikwe hills private game lodge). You don't go back to something you don't like. The lodges are perfect. You have everything you want, and if you need something they help. This is also a lodge where not too much people in one time can sleep and that makes it wonderful.
But what we liked the most, was the personal approach. After one night they know you're name and that makes already a whole part of the vacation. A meal later they know already what you normally drink. Of course you're free to choose.
The gamedrives (we had 8) were everytime a new adventure. We saw a lot of different and fascinating situations, tensions between the animals, but also the birds were interesting.
Everyone was so kind. We just loved it again and again and....
It's like the title says: 'simply the best'.

Room Tip: Ask, if possible, for a room with a view on a waterhole.

Wow, perfect. Super suites with in and out shower. The waterpool is so attractive for us (pictures) as for the animals. It's malaria free, very important for us.
For dining and all the eatmoments in between, they ask you by your name (which I very much appreciate) what you want to eat or..
There's a lot of privacy. No one could see you in your lodge.
There was as a picnic place outside the lodge and everything was perfect into details.
The drives were great and so was the knowledge.
We were there in August 2013.

Room Tip: Room with a view

The scenery at this camp is not comparable with anything one finds around the lower half of Kruger and the private camps in that area.

The landscape is open, savannah almost steppe with bush, only dense in certain areas. That gives an impression of space, because the land is mainly flat with mountains/hills within sight, compared to the bush in and around Kruger.

Another difference and attraction in my opinion is the much smaller number of safari vehicles than run about in the park of 75,000 ha or 187,000 acres.

The camp itself is very nice, the lodges large and beautiful and run with great enthusiasm by the manager Hannes. Bravo!

We had 6 great safari drives and saw the Magnificent Seven. What does one want more? Perhaps a little more luck with our 3 drives in the dark when we only saw a Mozambique spitting cobra.

Highly recommendable experience.

This was one of the most fantastic places to experience with private lodges and all facilities in the middle of the Game reserve. Superb staff with the best possible service experience at every level of the team.
evening meals around campfires international standard cooking both at he camp and in the middle of the bush make this a once in a lifetime experience

Room Tip: all the rooms are fantastic if you have a choice get one next to the main lodge but it makes little difference really
