Old colonial property, now a hotel. Rich with old design and artefacts it is a lovely place to stay for those that don’t always want a modern hotel. Situated close to the main square it is well placed to explore the village. Our room had a comfortable bed and a good shower although a small bathroom with slightly worrying electrics. There was no coffee or complimentary water and although there was free WiFi in the hotel we were unable to receive it in our room. Breakfast was good with plenty of options. We had a light meal in the evening which was good and inexpensive as were the cocktails. Staff were really nice.

The Posada is just behind the main square and in easy walking distance of the central square. The rooms are all different and traditionally furnished. Our bathroom was modern and the hot water plentiful. Our lovely room looked out into the little square opposite. You get a welcome Cocktail on arrival but I have to say that this warm toddy tasted like cough medicine and I needed a marguerita to get rid of the taste! We had one meal there which was ok but not terribly exciting and the service was slow. But hey - what’s the hurry!? Breakfasts were good and hearty. Lots of fresh fruit and eggs to order. Worth noting there is free water 24 hrs in the dining room. A really delightful place altogether with helpful staff.

Thank you very much for your comment. All your comments allow us to improve our service. The welcome cocktail is a colombian typical cocktail prepared with aguardiente, agua de panela, cinnamon and aromatic herbs and we drink it warm.

A well positioned hotel near the main square and very comfortable. Our room was large with lots of interesting artefacts around and the hotel was also interesting built around a pretty courtyard. It had a cosy lounge and a nice dining room. The food was ok, and the staff very pleasant.

We stayed for just a day as part of our tour of Colombia. Very traditional, so colorful and cozy. Very close to plaza de Mayor, you have all the attractions and food and drinking in a walking distance. Very friendly stuff always with a smile on their faces. Breakfast was tasty with local flavors. All in all, an excellent choice in villa de leiva
