Got an invite from the Bardsley family(see review below) so couldn't say no, in addition to all they have said , there's a much improved WiFi over last year and all the seating is now top quality along with many of the sunbeds, there will be a new satellite receiver with a load of new channels by the time you read this and possibly a Ultra HD Tv as well come the summer season. They still have a weekly BBQ in the garden if the demand is there. Whilst there we planted some banana saplings, I fully intend to see them grow to maturity, and will be checking on their progress in October!

This was our second visit having stayed at Captains last Easter (see review). If you want to find fault you will. The studios do need some updating and the owners know it. They try and do something each winter to improve the accommodation. Last year they put in new windows in the apartments and the year before they updated the bathrooms. The apartments are therefore very good now.
We go at this time as the place is quiet. Nothing much open in Kavos but it is totally relaxing. You may feel a little isolated without a car but if you want to laze by the pool then great. A bus does run to Corfu town so you're not completely lost for something to do. Let's face it, lying in the hammock on the beach in the back garden with a beer is pretty sweet.
Lefkimmi is a few miles away and there are restaurants open (Riverside do a nice meat platter; the small one will feed three). Memories is a nice souvenir shop and Alexandra who runs it is also lovely. At this time of year in Kavos, Pulse bar is open (they have bolwing, pool, air hockey etc and big TV's for sports), there's a supermarket and Nikos take away (great for Gyros and Pizza). That's about it but in Summer the place will be completely different.
Best thing about Captains is the family who run it. Will do anything for you. We feel part of the family now.
A great part of the world, with lovely people. Think we'll be there every Easter from now on.
Ask a question about this place and the resort, we are pretty knowledgeable about the area now.
Five stars because we love it.

It's Jezz and Anna, sorry we say goodbye earlier but thank you for a great stay!

To anyone reading this is a really nice hotel for families or couples and is a 15 minute walk from main Kavos.

Especially big thank you to Paul (and Rea) for helping us with everything and making us feel welcome.
There are two dogs that live at the hotel and they make it extra special.

I couldn't recommend Captains more!

I've just arrived home and want to be back here! The perfect little place run by an amazing family! We've had the best holiday! You're made to feel comfortable as soon as you arrive and both Billy and Freda go above and beyond to make sure you feel that way the whole time. Our flight was five hours late, so we arrived at around 6am to be greeted by Billy, who had waited up for us. He offered us food and drink before we went back to our rooms, which was lovely! Nothing was too much effort for them and you were never made to feel like a bother.
Foodwise, the meals were amazing! There is nothing better than Freda's carbonara! The food that they offer is divine! We had an amazing time and were planning our next trip here even before we left! Thank you Billy and Freda. See you again next year!!

Freda and Billy, the owners are delightful. Freda is a great cook, we had delicious food. Our flight was five hours late so we arrived at about 5 in the morning. Billy opened the bar and offered to cook us some food, which was so kind. Disappointingly, the apartment does not have a living room, as advertised, only a kitchen, so there isn't really anywhere to sit comfortably at night and although during the day it was hot so we could sit on the balcony or by the pool, it was too cold in the evenings to sit on the balcony.
The kitchen is very sparsely kitted out, so you need to either buy or bring with you tea towels, dishcloths, pan scrubbers etc. It would have been nice to have a toaster. Towels are supplied, but bring extra.
The bus to Kavos and all points to Corfu town stops right outside and is cheap and takes about 1.5 hours. We hired a car for 6 days from Abbeycar, which was cheap.
So, all in all, nice place, lovely helpful owners but it really does need some updating.
