We stayed at the sugarloaf grand summit at the end of march. The location is outstanding, the staff friendly and attentive. The restaurant was also quite good and a great value, especially for breakfast. The service in the restaurant was excellent.
There were some small issues: 1) There were flies, lots of flies in the room. Apparently this happens each spring, and only in the higher floors in rooms under eaves. They were fully booked and could not move us to a room that didn't have the problem. They staff came promptly when we called about the flies and they vacummed them away (they are ready and are used to it). 2) one of the two hot tubs wasn't working, and the one that was working was tepid. 3) Walking to the ski lockers, there was a HUGE puddle in the pathway. The brick walkway had a big depression, creating a big puddle, deep enough to easily get into your boots. Not sure why they designed the roof to have water flow from the roof into that corner.
Overall, I'd stay there again, but NOT in one of the rooms with flies.

Good clean slopeside accomodations. Nothing fancy, but better than other accomodations nearby. The rooms are clean and spacious; the mattresses are of good quality and many rooms have small refrigerators & microwaves. It's fun being right on the mountain and after a day of skiing, using the jacuzzi, steam room & sauna at the hotel. Then after a good hot shower, walking next door for a great meal at Gepetto's. Or, for a special treat, take the Mountain Cat and travel half way up the mountain for a cozy dinner at Bullwinkles. Overpriced, but a fun and memorable one-time event.

If you have some money to spend, rent one of the 3 story penthouses - 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a beautiful jacuzzi room with views of the mountain, a full kitchen and living room. Worth every penny!
