In an area rich in fresh produce and good quality food, dinner here was extremely disappointing. The menu was limited and mainly pizzas or burgers. The bread and burger buns appeared to be mass produced supermarket style, unforgiveable when there is an abundance of quality fresh bread available everywhere in the area. Apart from the French waitress, who was very nice and helpful, it seemed to be lacking in effort.

fresh saumon and saumon lasagnas, rib-eye steak, duck breast, home made pizzas and burguers, fresh saldas mixing local chesses, prawns and vegatables and various home made desserts, did you only read half the menu? Im very happy that all you can complain about is that we use industrial bread!

The restaurant is set in the corner of a square with stacks of free parking outside, which is where we met our friends and dining companions for the afternoon. On first glance it looks like there are two establishments vying for the same space but the right hand side as you look at it is a bar area which is given over to betting with horse racing shown on TV differentiated by a separate canopy/frontage and there seemed to be an endless procession of people dropping buy for a drink and to place a bet.
Run by an English lady and her Spanish husband, we were given to understand it is sometimes like a mini League of Nations with diners from just about everywhere mixing with the French locals. Inside, the restaurant area had bare stone walls adorned with assorted pictures, the place settings had very colourful and informative sheets from the tourist board to peruse between courses. We started our specially arranged lunch with a Kir and nibbles, crisps and peanuts etc. Our starter was a retro-style prawn cocktail with apple and pineapple served in a wine glass which was swiftly followed by a, I have to say, somewhat strange combination of Chicken in pastry and tarragon sauce with, somewhat strangely, mashed potatoes and lettuce! Interestingly in our party all of the women left the potato whereas all of the men devoured it. Pudding was a straightforward Apple and red fruit crumble and the service throughout was efficient and unobtrusive and overall it was OK but sadly for us there was no ‘Je ne said quoi’!

We stayed here for 3 nights and were housed above the bar.
The room is sufficient, especially at the price of €58 a night. Being a cheaper B&B it doesn't have an iron, a hair dryer or air conditioning (older buildings in France dont)
There is a bar down stairs and 2 of the staff members are English (Kate the owner) - The cognac was superb.
Breakfast was good, the room has a fan.
Staff friendly - they are open from 0730-2300'sh and later on Friday and Saturday if the custom is there.
Had the best pizza ever here.
Great place to stay - Kate was awesome.

This is a friendly, down to earth bar and restaurant, rustic indeed! Pop in for a coffee for 1€ or a pizza - the calzone was delicious! Clean establishment, well supported by the locals, decent, non fancy food. Thoroughly enjoyable.
