I stayed in this hotel for 2 night and boy it was good! the hotel is very luxurious in my opinion. There is a huge double bed in the single room along with a sofa work desk and the usual. Also a very big shower and a bath tub! the room was spotless. the extras are all available in the room such as hairdryer, bathrobe, safe, tea and coffee, TV etc. The wifi was also free and super quick.
The breakfast both mornings was faultess and had a great selection.
The hotel itself is very grand with big lobby area, fountains, grand piano and many statues and artwork.
It was maybe the best hotel ive ever stayed in!

You can tell it was a grand hotel decades ago. Good location. You can go to the river on foot. Behind the hotel is a private housing estate. Snack shops, convenience stores can be found nearby.
Furniture and fixture worn and torn.
Breakfast tend to be Chinese than international with congee, steamed sweet potatoes and stir-fry noodles.
Services satisfactory.
Spacious lobby.

It self-claims a 5-star property, but only 2&1/2 to 3 stars at most per international standards. My 'king size bed' room was small, and there was only enough room for the bed and a desk against a wall; a small window up high above the bed, looking over a bunch of broken roof tops; the bed was so firm that I felt I had slept on the floor; and, the room was smoking, typical feature of Chinese hotel rooms, however very clean. Breakfast buffet was so-so, but it did have a chef to prepare eggs to your preference. The worst part was the check out process. It took more than 20 minutes for them to have someone to check the room to make sure there was no charge for the mini-bar and nothing taken from the room. It could be worse, right? It's a Chinese run property, not to international standards. But only 310 RMB per night including breakfast.
