Andalousse Moroccan Cuisine

Andalousse is definitely not In the best part of town but do not let that dissuade you from a great dinner. It is very non-descript from the outside and is hard to find so for reference it is directly across the street from the Woodstock Police Station.

The interior is small and dark with Moroccan theme decor. It was also very warm inside. That being said, the staff were very friendly, the food was excellent, and the portions were very generous.

We were a group of four and we started by splitting the mezze platter and a medium kofta pizza. We then ordered Chicken Shwarma, Tajine Djaj bi zitoon, and Lamb Couscous Bidaoui to share. The portions were huge and we had almost as much left over as we ate.

The flavor of all the dishes was absolutely amazing and the meat was so tender and moist. The couscous and Moroccan bread were simply wonderful. I cannot say enough about how enjoyable the meal was.

After dinner we had the mint tea and some complimentary pastries as well.

I definitely recommend Andalousse and can only say do not let the neighborhood or the outward appearance keep you from enjoying a wonderful meal.

Great Place in terms of getting a different experience.
Its Halaal is located just next to the Police Station on the Main Road in Woodstock.

NB: The Entrance mentions its a surgery (there is no restaurant name that is obvious to see); but the truth is they only doing surgery to livestock in preparation to serve guests. (thats a joke, sort of). Just walk straight in and you will see bright green paints and it gives you the sense of another country.

All in all, the owner (i think its the owner) served us and was very helpful and informing..

The dishes are medium priced. Personally I had ordered the Pizza. Best value or money. My colleagues ordered the extravagant choice (only 10 items on menu); none of them finished their dish by over 50%. They did enjoy it though.

I would recommend to try the restaurant as a once off

Literally a hidden gem as written by other reviewers. The area looks dodgy from the outside but our cars were fine to park nearby and walk to the restaurant. The food was really delicious and the ingredients tasted very fresh. The place is very simple inside and not a fancy eatery, however it is quaint and charming and gives a somewhat Moroccan vibe, having not been there myself I enjoyed it and would go back.

Despite the fact that the surrounding area is not so great, the look of the place from outside somehow is old; the place itself is amazing! It has a different look and feel from any other place you will experience in Cape Town. It is a hidden gem!

Harrira soup, tagin, everything is just perfect!

When you first walk in, it does not look like much, as the restaurant is quite small and simple looking, but dont let that fool you. If you're in Cape Town and you really enjoy Moroccan food or would just like to try different cuisines, this is where you need to go. The food here was even better than the Moroccan food i had in Morocco! Everything we had tasted soooo good. For real. The waiter was also very helpful and hospitable and the prices are reasonable. Although, we did have some difficulty locating it because it did not have any proper signage outside.
