“Perfect Gite in an idyllic setting”

Without exception this cottage is not only one of the best equipped we've ever rented, but the owners provided every extra you could want - and usually have to buy. Just add people, food and wine and you've got a perfect holiday.

Southern Brittany has some stunning venues to visit, and after that the enormous garden is the perfect place to relax, watch wildlife, or just wander through the trees and vegetation.
When the sun goes down if you need a little warmth the large wood burner in the lounge provides the heat, and a warming glow in which to stare and contemplate the meaning of Life, the Universe and Everything (the answer is 42 for Douglas Adams fans).

Martin and Esther have thought of everything in providing a cottage equipped with all you could wish for - whether you want an active time (bicycles in the shed), or somewhere to put your feet up and enjoy the sun in a beautiful garden with lots of wildlife. We had a perfect holiday and thank them gratefully for their generosity and hospitality.

“Beautiful place to relax and enjoy Brittany”

Worth every minute of the drive from the ferry (Roscoff, but Saint Malo is probably nearer). Very clean, every home comfort considered and provided for. Lots of space for everyone. Wonderful gardens - we sat in them every day, ate lunch, dinner and even one breakfast outside, and admired the many butterflies, bees and lizards who were busying around.
The cottage is well placed to reach west coast beaches and some of Brittany's 'Petit Cites de Caractere' and we particularly enjoyed visits to Josselin (spectacular chateau on the banks of the canal, great restaurants, live music, walks and cycling) and the flowers, ice creams, gourmet food shops and picnicking in the chateau grounds at Rochefort en Terre (which closely resembles the village from Disney's Beauty and the Beast). Other local attractions included an open air swimming pool 10 minutes away, which was a highlight for our children.
We had a great week, and we hope to return again. Next time we will hopefully do more walking and cycling (on the bikes our hosts kindly made available) as there are lots of possibilities.

“Perfect for a relaxing French holiday”
Reviewed July 3, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

La Ville au Tady was a perfect place to relax in rural Brittany. The cottage gardens were full of birdsong and the bees and hummingbird moths on the lavender were a treat. We chose this area to explore the Nantes - Brest canal and it didn't disappoint. The cottage was extremely well appointed and a real home from home. The owners use it as their own holiday home and they are very generous in sharing with their guests.

“Tranquility à la française”
Reviewed June 25, 2017 for a stay in June 2017

We have just returned from La Ville au Tady where my family and I spent an enjoyable, tranquil, and incredibly delightful 6 sun-filled days. Martin and Esther's longère was the perfect base for us to explore Brittany and to spend evenings outdoors together as a family. We couldn't have asked for anything more. Martin and Esther have thought of everything and supplied everything we needed. We especially enjoyed riding bikes to Coët-Bugat and beyond to explore the majestic Brittany countryside. We were equally amazed at the work Martin and Esther have done in pulling together recommendations of restaurants, places to visit, activities (visit the Insectarium in Lizio if you have children).
The environs are so tranquil - especially after spending a week in Paris. We hope to return again someday!

“Spacious well equipped longere, set in wonderful, peaceful countryside”

We had a very enjoyable week here. The house is centrally located in Brittany, and the coast is easily reached in less than an hour, yet it is set deep in the French countryside in complete peace and tranquility. It is very well supplied with all the domestic equipment one could possibly ever need, even for permanent residence, and lots of toys and leisure kit available for use during a family holiday. The beds are very comfortable and, hooray, the heating works efficiently when the weather is a bit chilly. We especially enjoyed the rustic charm of this longere, and it's lovely garden and surroundings.

“Best equipped cottage we've stayed in”
Reviewed October 23, 2016 for a stay in September 2016

I booked this cottage on the basis of the previous reviews - and because I love blue shutters! We were not disappointed. It was rustically gorgeous and was also the best equipped cottage we've ever stayed in. It's got everything, even fly swatters - which came in handy because there are no fly screens over the doors and it was really hot so we had the doors open all the time. The bed was comfortable so we didn't have any trouble sleeping.

We found it easy to get to, using the instructions that we were given, and it was clean and tidy on arrival. The location is good - we visited Josselin, Rochefort-en-Terre, Vannes and Ploermel (we wanted to see the astrological clock, which is indeed fantastic). All of these towns are definitely worth a visit. The market at Vannes is especially good. I love Brittany and would have happily stayed here for a month!

If we were coming back to this area I would definitely book this cottage again.
