Me and my husband visited Kumarkom on our first wedding anniversary. To make everything perfect we chose this resort which turned out to be the best decision we ever made.

The ambience of the resort is completely serene and you will feel like you are resting in the lap of nature which will definitely rejuvenate your soul and body.

The staff was very courteous and kind. They arranged cake and flowers for us which was really a very pleasant surprise.

The food was palatable especially the Kerala dishes, they were awesome.

Though there are not many options to explore around Kumarkom, this resort itself gives you immense no. of options to create special memories. We thoroughly enjoyed pottery, cycling, sunset cruise, evening games, Ayurvedic spa and boating.

The evening traditional dance performance was amazing and the 700 oil lamps in the evening were incredible.

Would definitely recommend this resort to everyone.

We spent 3 nights in this resort in a villa with a private plunge pool. It was beautiful and vibrant with plenty of light and air and was decorated very tastefully. Our villa was so amazing, I could have spent every waking minute in there. But the rest of the property is equally amazing, with a lagoon running through it, plenty of birds and the Vembanad lake in its backyard. This resort makes for a most pictureseque and relaxing getaway. The food is average and the staff at the main restaurant are a bit snooty and off-handish, but they did give us a few free desserts and the rest of the resort more than makes up for the waiters!

There are many activities on the resort - paddling in the lagoon, angling, pottery, cultural shows in the evening, free evening snacks and games (if you're into that sort of thing) and a sunset cruise and an optional backwater cruise or speedboat ride. I would suggest doing the speedboat ride for the rush it gives, and it also takes you into a village area to see some of the local life. There are also rabbits, ducks and a turkey to keep children entertained.

The resort is located just next to the bird sanctuary. While this means that many exotic birds make their way to the resort, it also means you had better watch where you sit, because there are bird droppings everywhere. A chair is clean one minute, and has a big splatter of something or other the next minute. But this cannot be helped by anyone and the staff are always helpful with cleaning things up.

This is an amazing resort in an amazing location - a place to go back to time and again.

We stayed at the Taj for four nights at the end of our holiday and found it to be a very relaxing time. The staff were very attentive and nothing was too much trouble for them. Every afternoon they would have our Indian Champagne on ice and the beers icy cold. We stayed in a Deluxe Villa which was very private The food was delightful, thanks to Prince and his friendly staff. They provided bikes to get around the complex and getting a private driver was easy as well.

We both enjoyed the location, staff and the whole ambience of Indian life. An absolute pleasure to have stayed there.

The place is just AWSOME!! Huge property. Very Calm and quite. The staff are very attentive and courteous. The food is the best part, some of the best Kerala cuisine I have had in Kerala. Must take a speed boat ride on the lake, as I would not recommend a one or two hour slower boat rides. That should be at least a night stay on a "Kettuvelum" to experience the true essence of backwaters. The cottages are placed quite afar from each other, so there is no disturbance from adjoinig rooms. The pool is clean and child friendly. There was sunscreen and clean towels available and complimentary chilled fresh fruits after a swim. Showers and changing rooms are big and clean.
We stayed in a Luxury Villa the villa was big and the bath was the best part with open air showers with only pigeons taking a peek.
Of all the hotels I stayed in their linen and robes were the best.
The only downside was not the hotels fault as there were weeds all around the deck that stops you from boarding the boat from the hotel. You need to walk to a nearby jetty point.

Room Tip: Stay at the cottages or the villa overlooking the lagoon

We spent 2 night at this property and trust me we had the best of times as compared to any of the Taj Properties.

The place, the people, and the food all were commendable. We reached here after a back breaking 5 hr drive from Munnar and I can promise you will forget all your pain after seeing the property just once as we did.

It is located right next to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, thus making it very peaceful, the hotel also arranges for a Daily Walking tour of the sanctuary with a known guide, thus making it a interesting tour.

The property is located right next to the Vembanad Lake and offers a guided tour on their Houseboat. The property also has small lagoon within itself and you could see around 700 Oil Lamps being Lit by 5 women each evening.

The food we ordered was delectable and i would wanna commend the Chef for preparing cuisine with same taste and flavor as it originally should have been.

You should only go here if in case you are looking to move out of the maddening crowd and want some peace and sanctity back in your life.

Room Tip: All rooms are good

As a family of six and we had a wonderful time here. The rooms are separate from the reception/restaurant and it is all set over many acres, running right up to the edge of the lake. We all had a great time. Staff could not do enough for us. Rooms are large and most on the ground floor with lovely outlooks, and big bathroom. Bikes are free to use, as is the evening sunset cruise with tea afterwards. In the evenings it’s great to see the flying fox bats passing over head, very impressive. Lovely Swimming pool and a very good spa. Gym was not up to date but this was fine. Early morning bird sanctuary walks, well worth doing. Dinner was superb, and a large buffet breakfast outside. A few more sun bed’s needed by the pool, and no free internet. Would like to say a big thank you to all the staff, you where all wonderful.

Room Tip: All rooms good,
