The resort is at a perfect location adjoining the lake with a swimming pool in the center facing the lake. This is the only highlight of the resort and reason to stay there . The food is average and other services are also ok. A good and relaxing place to spend a day .

I would have rated it 4 stars given that its size and lack any major activities in the resort but 1 star extra just for the food. This was the best food we had in our 6 days stay in Kerala.
The swimming pool with the backwater view gives you an infinity pool feel and is the highlight of this resort.
The rooms were excellent too and had bathtub in the bathroom which is rare in 3 star hotel.
Overall I am happy with my stay here.

Room Tip: The rooms in the last have excellent view of backwaters.

This is a very small resort with 20 rooms built around a central swimming pool facing the Vembanad lake. Well maintained rooms. We were very much disappointed as we booked this place for a premium price looking for a relaxing quiet place to stay by the lake. The place was very noisy as there were several families staying with small kids screaming in and around the pool. There was not much space to relax outdoors and we had to leave the hotel to spend the day outside for some peace and quiet. The small boat taking us to the hotel reception from car park is charming at the first visit but not convenient as quite long wait for the boat on both sides. Our itinerary was delayed by two hours on our last day just waiting for the boat to take out luggage to the car park. They need to sort this problem of road connectivity seriously. Ayruvedic massage service closes at 5pm so we were unable to use the service. Hotel uses several trainee staff boys who were good.

Room Tip: If you want a quiet relaxing place to stay by the lake, please choose another place.

It is an awesome resort!! Very Natural and Right in front of Backwaters. The best part is going to the resort through a boat as there is no other way. Hospitality was also good. Manager Jai Krishna was very very helpful!!

At first look, we were just amazed by the location of this resort. The property is very well-maintained and right on the backwaters of Kumarakom. You can just sit on the benches and enjoy the beautiful waters and sunset from here. The rooms are clean and well kept too. The swimming pool is well maintained and very clean. The one bad thing we experienced during our stay here in May 2017, was the slow and poor service, especially at their restaurant. When we complained , we were told that most of their staff was on leave and hence the delays....don't think a resort this big should give this sort of excuse to begin with, especially when Apr-May is the peak holiday season for local travellers. We were at their restaurant for dinner by about 7.30 PM and inspite of being the first ones to order, we had to wait literally 45 mins before we were even served our beverages...nothing fancy, just Lime juice and Ice tea we had ordered! The only upside after all the waiting, was that the food was delicious. If the resort management can just handle this staffing problem, Cocobay is really quite a nice place to stay at. Very close to the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary and the House Boating decks as well.

Room Tip: All the rooms are pool facing, so that isn't a problem.

Cocobay resort is one of the best budgeted or reasonably priced resorts around Kumarakom. The biggest standout of this resort is the view it offers. The vembanad backwaters is huge and very scenic. The location of this resort is on the banks of this lake. All the excitement begins when you take a small boat from parking lot to resort on a boat through the canals. Once there, view and spread of the resort is breathtaking. Anyone can just sit there and laze around for hours from swimming pool, benches or hammocks around the resort.
The facilities are well maintained and specific mention is Swimming pool. It was neat and well maintained and usable even after many guests were actively using the pool till late night.
I would like to thank Mr. JayaKrishna for all hospitality and assistance he provided throughout our stay. He is a one man show – right from check-in , facilities, Admin, Restaurant, Tours & travels. Always smiling and helpful.
As a recommendation, I would suggest Cocobay management to add more staff to restaurant and other facilities to efficiently and timely handle all guests. Should offer more menu options for Veggies. Knowing the situation on short staff and limited options, we ordered our food 2 hrs before and they would let us know when ready to avoid the wait time. Overall, food was good & were flexible to change few things to our tastes and needs
Kumarakom has little or no interesting places to visit except for Bird sanctuary , but that was unfortunately closed due to staff strike. If you plan to just relax at resort overlooking the serene backwaters and beautiful sunset. Kumarakom is the place to be .
Overall, it was good experience and great place to stay and relax. Will I recommend this place to my friends & family, absolutely Yes.

The place is good and at the right place. But the service is horrible. No proper kitchen staff or service staff available.

Overpriced food.

No proper activities at the resort. Staff is quarrelling in the resort in front of guests due to less man power. Pathetic scene. They charge Rs. 50 for a 1 lt water bottle which is totally illegal.
