Got to hotel on first day of season, despite this plenty of staff on hand to help and by the end of our 12 night stay we knew everyone by name and have become FB friends with a few! Never stayed at a 5* hotel with such friendly staff - many of whom have family in Sami and ties to the local area so very knowledgable. This is also hands down the cleanest hotel I've ever stayed in (and I've travelled the world business class), with bed linen and robes changed daily. The pool is great and whilst the hotel evening menu isn't the cheapest it's nice if you need an evening in. It's also a nice 20 min stroll along coast to Sami which has a good selection of restaurants offering good Greek and Italian food. There are a couple of nice bars too that play decent tunes including Manifico Cafe Bar which has a DJ who only plays vinyl (no euro pop yay!). There is also a nice restaurant next door by the lake if you don't fancy the walk. There is an ace local beach about 4K from hotel which you can drive to or get cab. Sami is also the port for the ferry to Ithika - which is worth a drive around if you're into Homer! All in all a great base for exploring the island or chillaxing in the hotel and local beach. 10/10

A lovely clean and modern hotel.
Quality rooms, ideally situated around a pool complex. Well maintained grounds, and gardens.
Helpful staff and facilities.

Within a short coastal walk from Sammi , a quaint town, full of good tavernas and bars.

A completely relaxing experience , provided by the hotel. Breakfast was good and full of variety.
Well done to the management and staff. Will certainly visit again.

Second time in kefalonia and have fallen in love with this island. The emerald resort is a fabulous hotel, clean and fresh with a great pool and the staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is delicious either by the pool or in the resturant. I proposed to my now wife on the resturant balcony of this hotel and can't wait to one day return.

Definitely recommended.

Don't book this hotel expecting 5 star treatment you will not get it here.staff were nice management needs to be looked at big time.would say 3 star at best.the breakfast was poor .sliced bread that was stale. Not much choice and the same every morning, after the first week we decided to go out for breakfast,we didn't budget for this at all at 160 euros a night it was a very disappointing experience indeed.
