“Lovely cottage, ideally located for exploring Dartmoor”
Reviewed 22 September 2016 for a stay in April 2016

We stayed here and used it as a base to explore Dartmoor. The cottage is lovely, and we were greeted with Devon scones and a bottle of blackcurrant wine which was a nice touch. There is a beautiful garden and plenty of space to store bikes if you bring them. The owner was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

The cottage is within easy reach of the sustrans cycle network and there are some great routes over Dartmoor. I would definitely recommend this cottage.

“Lovely, peaceful location!”
Reviewed 23 August 2016 for a stay in July 2016

This was our first stay in Sticklepath and we loved Derek and Jenny's cottage. We arrived at the property to find a cream tea with homemade scones and jam, clotted cream, half a dozen of their own eggs, milk and a bottle of homemade wine (which was lovely), all of which was gratefully received after being stuck in the traffic! The cottage is well equipped and had everything we needed. The farm is beautiful and you have the freedom to walk around it - even my teenagers enjoyed the animals! The pub and village store are only a short walk along the lane. A good, comfortable base for exploring the local area. We loved our stay and will be back!

“Amazing family fun”
Reviewed 16 August 2016 for a stay in August 2016

This was the ideal holiday cottage for us leave. We'd only booked for the weekend to coincide with a wedding but wished we could have stayed for longer. The owners went out of their way so that we would get the most out of our trip - the children fed animals, played on the trampoline add ran around in the garden. We enjoyed the cream tea and elderberry wine!! Fantastic accommodation and amazing grounds.

“Quaint, relaxing, perfect break!”
Reviewed 31 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The cottage was amazing. It was perfect for a weekend break to relax. We wish we could have stayed longer. The property has a sizeable private garden, with decking, grass area, bbq equipment, a shed filled with lawn games which was an unexpected surprise. And the owners are very happy for you to make full use of their neighbouring land where you can meet the resident animals.
The house itself has everything you need and was more than enough space for 4 adults and 1 child. There are nice walks in the area.
The owners live next door and were very helpful, but also respected our privacy - Cream teas and homemade wine on arrival was a wonderful extra!

Hi David , glad you liked the cottage. We do make it clear in our description of the cottage about the third bedroom, and we remind any groups of more than four adults about the situation.

As for bumping your head, we apologise, you certainly aren't the first person to do that, although, in our defence, we do have very prominent warning signs on both sides of the door. Unfortunately, low door lintels and beams are often a feature of old cottages, some people think it adds to their charm.

“Fabulous place to stay”
Reviewed 19 June 2016 for a stay in June 2016

Just returned from a 6 night stay. Very friendly and helpful hosts, let you roam free around their well-kept smallholding. There are pigs, goats, sheep, chicken, rabbits and guinea pigs as well as wild birds (and a couple of squirrels) attracted to the bird feeder that is filled by your hosts before you arrive. We particularly enjoyed watching the woodpeckers that were regular visitors. Really thoughtful hosts providing comfortable and tidy accommodation with added extras to make your stay really enjoyable.
