Beautiful views overlooking the ocean with very active marine life. We were fortunate to see dolphins, seals, minks and eagles daily from our balcony. The sound of waves along with the perception of staying right on the ocean is one of the best features of this hotel. The beach out front is perfect for beach combing for sea glass, drift wood and other hidden treasures. Stayed in the Green Lodge 3 apartment with a full kitchen, which was ideal for travelling with an 8 month old. The room itself was family friendly and very cozy. The location of the hotel is right in the centre of the main strip, and walking distance from local establishments like the Co-Op grocery and Coho Joe's Cafe. It is also only a 10 minute drive from some stunning hikes, one of which takes you to a beach where whales frequent and even come close to shore to rub against the rocks. Overall we had an amazing time and we will definitely be coming back to stay here!

My teen daughter, dog, and I stayed 3 nights and enjoyed every bit of it. When we first walked into the room, we felt like we were on a cruise ship, as the view was pure ocean!
Comfortable, clean beds, nice deck to enjoy our morning tea, and a long beach out front to walk. Also, it’s located right in town, with the grocery store and a cute little bakery right across the street. We were treated well and our dog was welcome. A very pleasant experience :)

Robyn and Ray are two of the most easygoing and personable hotel owners we've ever met. We arrived to Sointula prepared for a quiet, isolated two days but did not know that the grocery store co-op and its few restaurants do not open on certain days, and so we were left stuck for dinner on our one night stay. There was a gas station that sold frozen pizza etc and the hotel does have a great fully equipped kitchen for guests to use. But instead of just letting a pregnant woman eat junk food for dinner, Robyn immediately offered to have Ray cook us a 'simple' meal to get us through the night. She told us to go off, explore the island, call her on our way back and a meal would be ready for us for a small extra charge when we returned. We didn't expect that they would have prepared a private dining table in their closed restaurant for us, overlooking the beach, with a three course meal and drinks. Ray cooked the most beautiful salmon dinner and they left us alone for as long as we wanted to enjoy the sunset as we ate. Honestly, I panicked a little when I first thought we were stuck for dinner that night, but Robyn and Ray came to our rescue and made our stay so much more special. That kind of personal touch probably was easier for them to do that day because there were very few tourists on the island (off season and just before the coronavirus restrictions were put in place) but honestly I feel like they are just those kind of people. Our hotel room was also beautiful, a dog friendly super comfortable room with a balcony overlooking the water. And as for the island, we pretty much had it to ourselves and so it really felt like an escape to paradise. We drove every road and did some short hikes all in the one day. I cannot wait to go back again in the summer to hopefully catch a view of the whales on Bere Point beach.
