Stayed here in February 2020 for a business workshop. I cannot say enough good things about the staff and accommodations. I wish I could rate our stay with ten stars. Daniel, Emilio, Simona, and all of the kitchen and housekeeping staff provided us with excellent service that included taking daily lunch and dinner orders, keeping those orders organized, addressing our daily needs, arranging for various transportation, and providing tours and excursions.

The food was excellent and gave us a taste of local Ecuadorian cuisine plus a good mix of options to accommodate the varying needs of my coworkers (vegetarian, vegan, etc.). Lodging was also excellent - beds were comfortable, there was ample area to hold the workshop, and good areas to relax and watch the birds. The amount of birds on-site is astounding.

Daniel provided us with a morning nature walk, a tour of the Inca tunnels, and a day trip to a nearby Antisana Ecological Reserve where we were able to see Andean condors and other protected bird species. Emilio was able to arrange transportation and logistics for 19 different people (plus family members/friends). Simona made sure that our day-to-day needs were arranged and taken care of. These three made our workshop the most memorable one to date.

Everything about the hacienda is lovely - the grounds, amenities, food, the staff, and especially the canine ambassadors, Fares & Maya. The property is large and beautifully landscaped with hummingbird feeders, walking paths, and amazing views. There is a pasture with llamas, and the ladies in the kitchen will give you carrots to feed them. The rooms are beautiful with comfortable beds. Our room was large and bright with lots of windows and a fireplace readied with wood if we wanted to have a fire. The whole hacienda is warm and welcoming with many places to sit and relax while reading or socializing with other guests. The owner, Daniel, is delightful to talk to and clearly takes pride in sharing his lovely home with guests.

The location is not ideal if you plan to spend a lot of time in Quito. You will be paying a decent amount for transport into Quito or anywhere W of Quito. The hacienda's proximity to the airport also means that planes pass over the property throughout the day and fairly late at night. There are also some neighbors with dogs that barked into the night. I would recommend earplugs if you are a light sleeper.
