A very relaxing home nestled off the beaten path, but still just a 10 minute ride to the town of Ganges. The house was very spacious and plenty big for our family of 4. There is a beautiful deck overlooking the water and a short walk to a small pebble beach. The owner Antonio has his wood crafting shop next door and is very generous with his time and even gave our 10 year old a wood chopping lesson(he was thrillled). Really a nice family vacation spot!
This three bedroom, 2 bathroom house was perfect for our group of five. The downstairs basement and bathroom worked very well for our extended family. The house was very clean! We particularly enjoyed eating and reading on the patio that overlooks the ocean, albeit at a distance. We walked down to the beach a few times and it is easily accessible to anyone who does not have any mobility issues. It is a good, short path but a little steep.
The living room area is large and airy but the couches really need replacing if one wishes to sit on them for any length of time. We cooked almost all our meals and appreciated the BBQ located on a second deck.
Antonio, our host, was very welcoming and approachable. He even accompanied us on a hike which we would not have known about otherwise. He is an incredible artist and what he does with wood is truly amazing!
The house has a few rough areas but the fantastic view from the deck more than makes up for it. Spent most of our time on the deck fascinated by the view of the harbor, sailboats and float planes. The house is located in a prime area, beautiful, quiet and yet close to Ganges for a quick run in to shops and restaurants.
Antonio could not be a better host, helpful in every way. You can expect a great vacation and we hope to revisit again.
