A lovely boutique hotel direct on the beach!
A very welcoming staff that they do a lot to keep you happy.
We arrived early at dawn so they insisted to bring the breakfast to room even when the breakfast time finished around 10m30 AM

The pool is very nice and the beach is clean with high currents.

What i like about this hotel it is small so no need to walk a lot...

The only negatives that the rooms need some renovation and the walls are thin than you can hear noises from time to time...

We stayed at temple tree for our first three nights in Sri Lanka. The stretch of beach at the back of the hotel was lovely. The food was average nothing special and the hotel lacked atmosphere. We often left the hotel in the morning and would only return to sleep.

Situated right on the Galle Road, Temple Tree Resort proves to be a reclusive and comfortable abode for us. We stayed at the property for 2 nights and found it very comfortable and serene, especially the private stretch of the beach, right next to the resort lawns.

The resort has a unique auto sliding entry and exit gate. This ensures no one just walks into the reception. You need to ring a bell on the wall outside to be let in. Found that quite intriguing.
The reception is an open arena with a view of the sea and the pool. The reception staff were cheerful and warm and check-in was smooth for us.
The rooms were modern and well appointed and offers a nice view of the sea from the attached balcony, opening to the garden below and the sea beyond. Our room had a king bed, L
The bathroom was equally modern with nicely curated dark stone look alike finish and was a delight, especially after the below average one we had in Glendower in Nuwara.
We had the dinner buffet on both nights at the resort restaurant and found it to be, well, average. The crabs were a delight and beef stroganoff stood out. The spread was good enough, however we were looking for some authentic local cuisine which was missing. It was primarily catering to international guests and was more templatized. However, one suggestion to the resort would be to, not stop refilling the buffet before the dinner time’s over. We were annoyed finding most of the items were almost finished by 9:15, when we came down for dinner. The dinner time is till 10:00. This happened on both the nights. Also there’s a strange ‘looking lost’ expression when we raised it with the waiting staff at the restaurant on the 2nd night. However, I was glad to see the feedback given to the manager and he promised to look into this- hope they would have. Not everyone has early dinner and this fact should’ve been considered.

Our check-out was smooth and the staff at the reception were very professional and swift.
All in all a very comfortable resort for a quiet holiday. High on my recommendation!

We stayed here for two nights as part of a package tour arranged by Thomas Cook. We got two rooms next to each other. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious and the amenities were great. We ate buffet dinners both nights and buffet breakfasts as well. The spread was excellent and had a variety of Srilanka, Indian and international fare. There was enough variety from day to day. The only disappointing thing is that we were not informed that there would be a charge for beverages. We assumed it was included and were asked to pay. Other than that, other experiences were just fantastic.
