A perfect weeks stay in Butlers cottage. Hidden away from the high street. Total peace and quiet. Very cosy. Especially with the log burner. Very well equipped. Nothing was missing. Will definitely recommend it highly.
We have just returned from three nights in Butler’s Cottage in Burford. Funnily enough I was also celebrating my 60th Birthday like the last reviewer. There were three couples and a small dog, and the cottage was ideal with lots of space. It has been decorated and furnished beautifully with a great eye for detail and comfort; we particularly liked the board games and books to read. Moreover, it is also practical for wet/muddy walkers as you can come straight into the utility room from outside to take off muddy boots and wet clothing. There are also doors to keep a dog contained till it has been washed and dried!
When we arrived, we found 6 cupcakes had been left for us and there was also a bottle of milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and sugar available. This was a nice touch as we could sit down with a hot drink and something to eat straight away. The house was also nice and warm with the heating on ready for our arrival.
The location of the cottage was superb; tucked away up a ‘secret’ alley off the high street. Tranquil, but only a stone’s throw away from the bustle of the town with its variety of shops, galleries, pubs and restaurants. No need to drive to go out for an evening meal.
All in all, the cottage made for a happy memorable birthday.
Celebrating my 60th with family all of us adults. Well equipped cottage, lots of character, beautifully decorated. Two sets of stairs one of which is very steep. Right in the middle of the high street but you come through a door along a small passage way and the cottage is so quiet you dont know you are on the main street . Great that they accept dogs. Very well equipped kitchen , lovely beds and bedding, lovely bathrooms one with bath and shower the other with walk in shower. Cant praise it enough. Would visit again
In September 2016, four close friends spent 6 days at Butlers Cottage in Burford during which time we attended a wedding in Windrush. The layout and appointments at the cottage accommodated our group perfectly. The two baths plus first floor powder room meant there was never a wait for the facilities. The kitchen was fully stocked with all the necessary utensils to prepare meals. The location was ideal for strolling around Burford, accessing delightful restaurants, and as a base for many day trips in the beautiful Cotswold's. When we had an initial inability to operate the TV someone from the agency appeared quickly to walk us through the process. On the whole, we had a delightful stay and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a memorable Cotswold's experience.
Extremely high standard of accommodation: beautifully decorated and fitted out, and the location is brilliant. It was absolutely ideal for girls' weekend away - highly recommended.
