A nice place for a day out. We went for the day with a picnic and the kids had a great time. There is plenty of space for walking about and lots to see and do.

We were amazed at the overall size of bowoods property when driving in and out, was easy to park and to go through into the house its self ,which was steeped in history .it was amazing to think about years gone by and the stories it could tell.as it was very warm and plesent we took a picnic (as did many others) and sat on the grass area to enjoy it, there were many things to keep all ages of children happy.

Such a beautiful place, the gardens are stunning especially when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. Went there as a child in the Brownies to see Princess Margaret. Love the lake, it’s worth every penny of the entrance fee.

We went for an event day with demonstrations, food tasting, competitions, stalls etc but the grounds and house are lovely at any time.

What beautiful gardens and family friendly areas to walk through to get to Bowood House. A highlight for me was seeing some of the landscaping of Capability Brown. The house is set out differently to most stately homes - most of the rooms are set up with collections rather than furniture. The owners have made an effort to attract all age ranges to their estate.
