“Interesting house”

Bowood House and Gardens
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 4, 2018

On a wet Saturday in March on route to a family get together we decided to stop of at this location. The grounds no doubt are nice but not looking their best at the end of a long cold winter. The house is not a stately home type house but offer various exhibitions on different themes in various rooms and there are some fine paintings. I enjoyed looking around the house very much. There is a small farm attached to the house and an excellent adventure play park which I am sure children would love. A good place to visit specially on a sunnier day and with little uns.

A nice place for a day out. We went for the day with a picnic and the kids had a great time. There is plenty of space for walking about and lots to see and do.

We were amazed at the overall size of bowoods property when driving in and out, was easy to park and to go through into the house its self ,which was steeped in history .it was amazing to think about years gone by and the stories it could tell.as it was very warm and plesent we took a picnic (as did many others) and sat on the grass area to enjoy it, there were many things to keep all ages of children happy.

Such a beautiful place, the gardens are stunning especially when the Rhododendrons are in bloom. Went there as a child in the Brownies to see Princess Margaret. Love the lake, it’s worth every penny of the entrance fee.
