“Comfortable cottage in lovely location.”
Reviewed August 9, 2016 for a stay in July 2016

The cottage was very comfortable for the various members of our family who stayed. The beds in the two main rooms were very comfortable. Good quality bedlinen & towels provided. The open plan layout of lounge/kitchen/dining area works really well in a holiday situation. As a 3 generation family we have hired a holiday cottage for the last 5 years for a week's holiday. Compared to others in a similar price bracket I think this cottage could benefit from a few upgrades. The small sun porch was a welcome area but the furniture was well past its best. The patio furniture was in dire need of repainting and the patio area just generally looked unkempt. Outside a new clothes dryer is needed and indoors a decent clothes airer. i would also expect a dishwasher as standard for a cottage in this price range. The grounds around the cottage were lovely and we enjoyed the fact we could walk into Pittenweem easily. Also took the opportunity to walk some of the Fife Coastal Trail. We enjoyed our week in
Fife.

Thanks for the review Alison and the observations. I am glad you enjoyed your stay. We will take them all on board and deal with them as soon as possible. A dishwasher is on the cards and will be installed once the busy season calms down a bit. We will also make the terraced area look a little less rustic.
Yours
Jamie

“Perfect holiday rental in beautiful location”
Reviewed September 17, 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Used this property as a base to attend Commonwealth Games events and to explore the Fife coastline and countryside. Really lovely house near the owners' property and other holiday rentals. Huge garden area and lovely local walks. Easy walk to Pittenween and to the coastal path.

The owners are lovely and nothing was too much trouble.

We will definitely return.

“Perfect hideaway”

Stayed 4 nights over a weekend with various family, friends and dog for a special birthday. Cottage is secluded but very close to Pittenweem village in this lovely part of Fife. Furnished to a high standard particularly with regard to beds and bedding which were comparable to bed linen in good hotels. Weather was mixed with sun, sleet and rain but no bad thing as we enjoyed long walks on the good days and cosy times round the log burning stove on others. Special + for local Pittenweem shops, Fish and Chip shop, fish shop (had to make Cullen Skink), and great and friendly butcher (took supplies home to Edinburgh). Only regret is we had no kids with us to enjoy the freedom of the cottage gardens.
Thanks to Jamie a thoughtful host and nice guy.

“A special retreat in the heart of Fife”

Less than I mile inland from Pittenweem the sat nav spoke the words we were waiting for "you have arrived at your destination".
There it was a small sign "Madeira",tucked behind woodland we followed the private road to find gardeners cottage, our home for the next 3 days.
The Cottage which sleeps nine was terrific ,large open plan lounge, kitchen diner and 3 good sized bedrooms one with en-suit and a family bathroom.
The lounge had plenty of comfortable seating and a great log burning stove. The large kitchen was well equipped and plenty of storage and utensils.
The well proportioned bedrooms had huge fitted wardrobes and the beds were truly comfortable,we all slept really well. With no outside noise or light pollution, night time was magical.
The weather was not on our side that particular weekend however this did not dampen our enthusiasm to explore the nearby Fife coast, which if you've never been is stunning.
A big thank you to Julie who welcomed us on arrival and ensured we new how to operate the heating system and where everything was.
Would we ever go back? YES,YES YES.

“Excellent”
Reviewed November 5, 2013 for a stay in October 2013

Stayed at The Gardeners Cottage in October 2013 with my wife,13month old toddler and 2 large dogs.Excellent from start to finish. The cottage is open plan and therefore made our lives easy with a toddler and two dogs.Great location with abundance of hot water and heating. The Log burner was also great as the evenings started to get the winter chill.3 large bedrooms and fully equipped functional kitchen with washing machine which we found particularly useful travelling with a toddler at that time of year.Cottage spotlessly clean and is set in secluded grounds.Genuinely friendly owners who are on site for advice and/or any problems(there werent any). Will definetely be back again.
