We booked this hotel when we realized that our 12 -hour delay out of Chicago (due to Cyclone Gabrielle ) would make us miss our connection to Christchurch, so we would need a place to stay near Auckland airport. As it happened our flight was canceled so we did not make it into Auckland for the night we had booked at Bakers Lodge. We booked through Booking.com which still shows our booking as 'cancelled', however despite e-mails to Baker's Lodge explaining that we were not even in their country they have refused to refund us for the night's stay. We were out a lot of money with the many ways in which we had to re-plan airfares, car rentals etc. as our entire vacation schedule was disrupted, so the cavalier disregard for the truth of our situation and their taking payment for a room they know we did not occupy needs to be made known to anyone who may be considering staying at Baker's Lodge.
