We love Portugal and visit every year. However our experience is that many restaurants are ok but the imagination is rather dull. Fine if you want a grilled fish every night but after a while we start looking around for something a bit more interesting.
Ferragudo seems to be opening several such places and Ferragood is certainly one of these. Lots of interesting dishes on offer and a nice ambiance.

Came across this restaurant by accident as it is slightly out of town. However, the serendipitous event proved to be extremely good matching the fine foods and excellent staff who combined efficiency with a touch of famed Portuguese hospitality. speciality of the house were Ferragud fried prawns, which still live in the memory. Great evening out with friends.

For us it was extremely convenient in location and probably wouldn't have discovered it if we were located else were, the food was good quality for good prices, there was a lot to chose from as a typical Portuguese restaurant. All the staff were extremely friendly and the atmosphere in general was comfortable and local.

Have been away from this area for a couple of years, so really pleased to see that
Gilberto's restaurant is thriving. With so many to choose from it has to be his menu, consistency in the kitchen, the apmosphere, and his in house help. Over the years I have resisted the Beef Tenderloin, Portuguese style, but went for it without a starter, because the other item that has been raved about is the homemade apple pie. Ordered both and can't honestly say which one was better. Sooo, you decide. Other member ordered the Flaming garlic shrimp...not just five or six..with a side of rice and salad. I shared a bite of the pie. Can't wait to visit again during our long-stay.
