An amazing restaurant, choose the tasting menu with wine for the best experience. Rooms are simple, comfortable and well maintained.
If you are staying at La Bergerie, arrive early so you can sit out with a glass of wine in the afternoon and enjoy the views.
We stayed a few days and, having had most of the dishes on the menu, chef offered to cook something else for us.
What he made was absolutely incredible!

The hotel is just outside the village. Rooms are immaculate, modern and comfortable with individual small patios, and there is a small outdoor pool.Service was good.
The set dinner was stunning and comprised five courses including smoked mackerel, quail, and bream, beautifully presented and served in manageably small portions.( It was expensive though.)
Breakfast slightly disappointing- no fresh juice only sweetened nectar, no fruit, and jams in tiny plastic pots.
The whole experience was a treat though.

A wonderful location, and simply amazing food. I travel the world eating wonderful food and this compares with some of the very best - a wonderful experience, particularly as I'm a non-meat eater in France! I stayed with my Mum and we thoroughly enjoyed the stay. Staff were delightful, accommodation was great, we will look for another opportunity to return.

The rooms are new in an old building, good beds, nice sanitaire, surroundings are making this a nice place.
12 km from Carcassonne makes this a good choice. Nice swimming pool.
You better use the restaurant, it is excellent and in the vicinity there is nothing else; that doesn't matter with this quality.

We stayed here for a week as a family. Hotel is in rural setting amid beautiful countryside, and very peaceful. Just the place for a restful break. Rooms were very comfortable and spotlessly clean. Staff extremely helpful, although most have limited English and our French isn't up to much so communication not always easy.Hotel easy to find by following signs from Carcassonne and on roads surrounding Aragon, which is an amazing mediaeval village perched on a hill. Carcassonne is a short drive away
Downsides are it's rural location- you have to have a car to get around and there isn't much to occupy children who aren't appreciative of country walks. Can recommend safari park st Sigean though.
Also hard to get meals as little locally. Michelin starred restaurant on site, but pricy and catering for gourmet tastes, not really children, or myself as a vegetarian. I guess they would have offered something else if we had asked as very obliging managers. Nice Pizza at Cafe du Commerce in Montolieu but not open every day( like the majority of the restaurants and facilities in this part of France). City of Carcassonne not to be missed and lively during the week.
All in all a lovely place to stay but a week was too long when with children.
